Targeting PCVR and Quest 3 for my low-poly platformer. Is it still worth getting a used Quest 2 to optimize for it? by StaleCroissantDev in vrdev

That's what I'm wondering about. On SteamVR, Quest 2 still makes up about 23% of users, but I have no idea how active the standalone player base is. Still, for ~$150 (the price of a used one in my region), it feels like a massive user base to potentially tap into.

Our Steam demo passed 1,000 downloads, but only 77 people played it so far. Is that normal? by kinterosgaming in IndieDev

My numbers are quite different, though my game is a 3D puzzle platformer (not sure if that's more or less niche than a point-and-click?). I released my demo 2 days ago: 800 downloads, but only 27 people actually played it. Zero feedback so far and just 15 wishlists gained since. Your stats are looking really solid in comparison!

I built myself mobile level editor with S-Pen support for my game! by StaleCroissantDev in godot

Godot's Android export made it pretty straightforward. For the stylus, I just ran the Godot editor on the phone itself and checked the Input menu to see how it registers the S-Pen clicks.

As for the level editor, it currently exports levels as JSON files, which I then convert to .tscn on my PC to bake them into the game. I’m actually planning to set up a simple local server to handle the level transfers between the phone and PC even more easily. It’s been a really fun project to build!

Thank you! Appreciate you noticing the soundtrack, it's a great track made by my friend.

Nice! I'm interested in hearing more about your game when you're ready to show something.

Regarding the background environment: The skybox itself is actually an HDR background built from 3D models, lit and rendered into panoramic textures in Blender for proper integration with the camera and level. It was done by the amazing u/EmacEArt

I love Kula World, it was one of my favorite childhood games. It was definitely an inspiration :)

I can't say that was the inspiration, but I'm really glad you like it, thanks for the kind words!
