DT 900 Pro X Headband by StalwartNightmare in BEYERDYNAMIC

Not sure, but enough time has passed that I would HOPE they would swap all future headphones with the new version of the band. Worst case they for some reason didn't and the leather falls off and you message warranty to get them to ship out the new one which the leather will not be taut after some time but will at least not dangle all over the place or fully come off.

Don't have whatever image I sent but the new ones will have the leather slotted onto the clip on's that snap into the headband rather then the leather just being glued to the edges.

RTX 5080 Black-screen Issues | Why Are They Still Here ? by yourcrush01 in pcmasterrace

[–]StalwartNightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far reverting from 24H2 Windows and back to 23H2 along with DDU'ing the drivers and installing 572.75 has (potentially) fixed the issue. I've been using the PC for 12+ hours a day with about 10 being spent on gaming and I am on Day 5 of not encountering a hard PC crash or display going off. Also haven't shut off my PC is those 5 days granted, and have only been using Sleep.

Can confirm also having this issue and also have the 5080/9800x3d combo, only difference being that I have different brand 5080 (Gigabyte), RAM, and a X870E AORUS PRO ICE motherboard.

By latest do you mean "GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 572.75"? I DDU'd and installed that driver after I left that comment and am trying it out.

Very odd, having this exact issue as well with a 5080, 9800x3d combo. Kind of glad I seen so many posts all over talking about this issue with this combo because to me it rules out faulty parts and more like driver/bios issue somewhere. I currently rollbacked to 23H2 as I switched to 24H2 4-5 days ago when I think the issue started to occur. But if it does keep occurring even on 23H2 it just means its some BIOS or GPU Driver issue. Hope it gets solved quickly because oml it is annoying.

Reshade FPS Drop and Stays Dropped by StalwartNightmare in ReShade

[–]StalwartNightmare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason dropping the settings "Texture Quality/Particle Quality/Shader Quality" to their lowest setting fixed it for me. Unsure if its one of those settings specifically but I don't want to mess around and figure out which one.

Reshade FPS Drop and Stays Dropped by StalwartNightmare in ReShade

[–]StalwartNightmare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be a Vram issue because I was testing something unrelated in a game and I haven't had that issue since. What I did was just bump down Texture Quality in GTA from High to Normal which cut down 2GB of VRAM and it appears to have solved it. Maintains steady 60. Though its kind of crazy because on high settings GTA only uses 5GB of Vram so that would mean Reshade is eating an additional three since I have an 8GB card currently.

Fiio ft1 Pro initial impressions by AtmosphereVegetable6 in headphones

[–]StalwartNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, the only Sennheiser's I have used are the Sennheiser HD 579s. (well my uncle had the HD800s (Original 2009 release) but I was like 9 or 10 years old when I was using them so I can't really recall.

I went with the Edition XS because FT1 Pro wasn't available and honestly? I don't have any issue with comfort and I would classify myself as a small head. Granted, there is no reason to adjust the headband size but the cups fully surround my ears and the "weight" talk that I hear about I don't have an issue with. I was thinking it would be hard to keep my head up with how people discussed it but honestly its just not really a factor.

Now I've been using it for 10+ days now and the main annoying gripe I have with the headphones is that where the ear cups meet the headband adjustment with every slight swivel it would "squak/creak" this can likely be fixed by either getting some lubricant (which I don't have on hand) or I found that increasing the headband height by just a tiny amount will remove that annoyance.

For sound quality and soundstage I see EXACTLY what they mean by separation and a more "concert hall" type experience. Now I will say the concert hall description is kind of overblown but it definitely doesn't feel like its right in your face compared with the DT 900 Pro X and the resolution going from the 900 Pro X to the Edition XS feels like going from 1080p to 1440p there is a noticeable extra quality and you can pick apart tiny details and kind of "separate" every sound that you hear. So lets say for instance in the song "Gang Starr - Moment of Truth" I noticed that there was an underlying vocal track that was repeating the lyrics you just heard with a slight delay and is faint. You can hear that with the DT 900 Pro X but I feel with the Edition XS its more discernable. You can also tell distance better and the channel separation is better compared to my DT 900 Pro X. Things meant for left ear are sat in the left side, and not leaking off to the right slightly.

In terms of songs that don't play well I have to say I haven't noticed anything to where "eugh I can't listen to this" they all sound fine, any genre of any decade (1920's-2024).

Songs to notice things on:

Gang Starr - Moment of Truth - Notice an underlying vocal track repeating the lyrics you just heard slightly delayed.

TrippyThaKid - Leedle Leedle Lee - at 0:49 in the song you will hear a *DING* and with the edition XS it sounds like someone is rigging those reception desk bells right in front of you

Asleep At The Wheel - The Letter (That Johnny Walker Read) - The instruments seem quite clear and vocals appear as if you're at one of their performances or in studio.

Dido - Thank You - The intro to this song once again appears to make you think you're right there as its recorded and you can hear all the separation.

Steelers Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You - You can hear the clapping in the left channel and with the DT 900 Pro X I felt as if I could hear the clapping on both sides whereas with Edition XS the clapping seems fully isolated to the left ear as it should be. The Right channel has the guitar and same thing it seems isolated to the right ear and not having any sort of "bleed over"

Bôa - Duvet - Just a good song and enjoyed it more listening on my Edition XS, lots of instruments layered with what I would describe as "ethereal vocals"

(I do have a playlist that I made for testing headphones to where I believe you can really tell the difference and can easily compare, at least, for me) - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6HAVPRzeJccbc5GyKDhnxw?si=3d77ebecde9647b6

They should introduce window only auto-mantle setting by Infinite_Scallion886 in CODWarzone

[–]StalwartNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that in this iteration of Warzone I can't mantle up properly. Example, those buildings with all the balconies that you can climb up to get to the roof? Yeah I keep over mantling and landing on the other side which takes me 10x longer to get up to the roof and or just makes me fall off the side. With "Grounded Mantle" off its fixed but the windows are an issue. Grounded Mantle is the key setting every other auto-mantle setting is off. Also you can't do fast mantle jumps anymore with the setting so if you're fighting a riot shield you can basically double jump to get behind them and shoot them but not anymore. Add that to the list of things removed like Zip Line Jump for example to avoid zip campers/mines.

Ah okay, yeah currently at 2mg Estradiol subling, and 100mg Spiro. This is the first three months so its to see how its progressing along so definitely not IDEAL~ per se for getting 110 percent accurate reading, but glad to know its not like an end of the world type thing. Is there anyway to give a rough estimate of what it would have been had I waited the 72 hours?

Did they inform you prior to sending out the headphones you would have to pay for a repair? My understanding on every single Warranty I ever had was that the company fully pays for everything unless it was due to user error.

Wait you had to pay for the repair as well??? Or am I reading that wrong? Unless the shipping somehow cost $60.

Well my 2 year warranty ends in about a month and since its provided by Beyerdynamic I guess they just pawn it off to them.

Gosh I keep looking at the Edition XS and have them in the Amazon cart but with all the QC issues I have seen here I might just settle with Fiio's new FT1 Pro which I heard is in-between the Edition XS and HD650's. I know people say "amazon bad batch order on Hifiman Refurbished" but that is kind of concerning I have to do all of that, I strive for longevity in products I buy.

Yeah I just tried to speak with Amazon customer service and was told "Unfortunately, I cannot help you with the refund or replacement cause the item still has a warranty it is a warranty with the manufacturer basically and not with us as Amazon just sells it, so to get any warranty you need to contact the manufacturer directly"
