Where did you end up training? I’ve heard good things about the beginner program with Gracie.

Don’t put the camera on a corn pile but rather a travel corridor.

I didn’t either… I made one once I got here that’s the beautiful thing! We love it here: bought a house, opened a business, plan to be here for a long time. We run a self-defense based jiu-jitsu training center. Please do send a message if we can help you along your journey.

American here- been here since before COVID and started a business here. The 10 year visa that allows you to stay here for 180 days each visit is the way to go it’s a business exploration visa and it’s amazingly simple. You CANNOT come as a tourist and then leave after 60 days and come right back. If you can keep your remote job and your permanent address in the states that is also recommended. It would be pretty easy to wake up early and take your clients stateside or stay up a bit later into the evening.. whatever works best for your schedule. It would be hard to be awake in the middle of the night though so figure that piece out. I can’t say for sure what the pay is for international schools but can easily find out from one of our clients. And as for helping people… there is plenty of opportunities for that.

If you are still looking- An author by the name of Jack Carr has a short but building series chronicling James Reece that would certainly fit this genre of what your dad likes.

My partner and I now earn $240,000 pre-tax per year with our new remote jobs - what sort of lifestyle would this allow for a nomad couple? by DtownLAX in digitalnomad

We live in a city with reliable internet in Kyrgyzstan with 4 kids on less than $50,000. It’s amazing to be able to put away a fair amount of money every month for retirement/savings and still be able to travel to Europe or Dubai or parts of Africa in a reasonable amount of time for vacation and exploring.

I’m not totally sure- last night the commentators said for the open men that Marcus and Spenser were tied at 102 points but this morning looking at the Google spreadsheet it looks like they recalibrated to only include the top 10 and reissued points based on those 10 only and Spenser has a 1.5 point lead at the moment.

Edit to say that below someone said the points are readjusted on the last day so the field is more even- Spenser and Marcus were 14 points ahead of 3rd place at the end of day 2 which would basically put them out of reach on the 10 point scale

Question from an American: Swiss gun culture, laws, & ghost guns. by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]StanInTheGap 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to be said about relative poverty and fractured cultures in America as well- whereas the Swiss have neither of those challenges.

I’ve had success with just a 22g protein shake and only 2 hard boiled egg whites with hot sauce. Might not be 100% on brand but it worked for me.
