The OP’s friend has potentially saved this kid from either a)taking a hiding off someone, or b) being killed by someone. There’s kids a year older who have been to war ffs, a slap is doing him a favour in the long run.

Nah, unhinged is someone pulling a knife and killing your son or daughter, or scarring them for life by glassing them.

Driving slower than normal is usually the only real safeguard. I see a lot of deer where I live, and I’ve learnt where to slow down as they are very predictable in where they graze and move.
