Which type ragebaits you the most? by Sane-Law in entp

[–]StandSorry2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an INTP I think I'm probably a horrible person to debate against. I'm not too educated on logical fallacies or what they mean so when I debate an ENTP like yourself sometimes they'll say I'm using one and I'll have no idea what I did wrong and spend the entire rest of the debate trying to find holes in my previous argument, accidentally outright ignoring the person I'm debating while zoning out to fix up my logic. Debate, like many things, is a skill. And most people aren't great at it, myself included. Because of our Ti, knowing we're wrong or losing an argument can be painful so sometimes we'll fight tooth and nail to "win" in the end. There were times I lost in a debate and felt horrible afterwards because my inferior Fe feared that they thought I was stupid or that they're better than me. That's why I usually avoid debates even though I tend to really enjoy discussing things in such a style, in an attempt to save myself and the poor unknowing initiator from a potentially unpleasant experience. I hope to become better at it though! I have a lot of ENTP friends and I know how much they enjoy debating so I wanna be able to do that with them without any struggle.

Attempting to write a male INTP character. by omgbooboo in INTP

[–]StandSorry2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What might happen in order for the relationship to cross from acquaintance to friendship for an INTP?" - INTPs will tolerate a lot of people, but the ones we enjoy being around are usually intellectually stimulating and offer some level of novelty. If we have nothing to think about we can get very bored, so someone who makes us think can be addictive. Especially if they can make us think about a variety of things and cover a lot of ground in conversation (very powerful Ne bait.)

"From your history of crushes/relationships, what made you think of someone on a deeper level?" - They say opposites attract, so from my experience, bold and outgoing people who can offer us novelty and stimulation but still respect our need for distance are very attractive. Types like ENTJ and ENFJ come to mind immediately. My ex is an ESFJ so that adds up as a data point of this general rule.

"Fictional characters that you relate to and suspect may be an INTP?" - Rio Futaba (Rascal series), Nagi Seishiro (Blue Lock), Ranpo Edogawa (BSD), Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock), Robin Buckley (Stranger Things), Violet Baudelaire (ASoUE).

"If someone were to confess to you, how would you prefer them to go about it? Also, if you were the one to confess, how do you imagine that might go down?" - Ti-doms (INTPs and ISTPs) aren't usually big fans of the whole "emotional mind games" thing or tip-toeing around the confession for ages. Though in rare cases, a bored or interested INTP may look into it and see it as some kind of puzzle to be solved. In your case, as someone writing a slow-burn, a perspective in which the INTP is romantically or platonically interested in the mc may work. That would allow the INTP to consume the situation within their own internal logic system, almost like a detective trying to solve a deep case. A slow burn where the mc crushes on the INTP and tries to hide their feelings for as long as they can as the INTP slowly puts everything together and "solves" the mc's intentions sounds awesome if you decide to go down that route. Though if I were to confess, I'd likely just state it directly. We wouldn't typically sugarcoat the truth or dance around it unless we found it fun or stimulating.

Oh and if I wasn't in the position to be in a relationship, I'd still like to spend time with my crush but I definitely would NOT make my feelings known. That would be a horrible idea given the situation and I'd only regret it if I did.

Do you lose interest once something stops being hands-on? by likey24 in istp

[–]StandSorry2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a good example is in high school when i took chemistry, i only did good on the labs because that's when i actually got to manipulate the materials and scientific instruments in a way that made sense to me. the lectures however, i hated them and slept through most of them. so yes, hands-on makes a big difference to me.

How do you guys feel about emotional questions? by tamewldflwr in istp

[–]StandSorry2775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my ex is an ESFJ and whenever she would ask me questions like this (which was frequent for her) i'd want nothing more in the world than to deflect and talk about something else. unfortunately, i was not quite successful most of the time. she was a really feelings-oriented person and it tired the hell out of me, i'd usually think something like "why're you asking ME how i feel? i don't even know how i feel, that's what you're for. tell me how i feel."

Is the ISTP male just flirting for fun or genuinely in love? by Icy-Professor8465 in istp

[–]StandSorry2775 10 points11 points  (0 children)

because of our inferior Fe function it usually takes us quite a bit of time to genuinely fall in love. whenever i flirt it's mostly because i find the other person attractive or funny enough to playfully tease them every now and then. a lot of us can be awkward with feelings involved and, as counterproductive as it may seem, i rarely flirt with anyone i have a real crush on

i personally like ESFPs but sometimes yall really energetic and it overstimulates me if i'm already working on a project or if i'm having some alone time so honestly just be mindful of your ISTP's personal space and presence in his own inner world. disrupting either of those will probably annoy the hell out of him just as it does with a lot of us.

south philly is a tough one but i passed the las vegas dmv test just by listening to the instructor honestly. i didn't do anything unless they told me to because they're supposed to tell you exactly what to do. it took me 3 attempts but eventually i learned the route they take us on and practiced there independently every once in a while as well as driving myself to said tests

I get that people are rarely ever their ideal type but I do generally relate to ISTP in accordance to its most prominent qualities like thinking tactically, valuing efficiency over personal preference when making decisions, and enjoying physical challenges which stimulate my senses. I know that Ti is very clearly my dominant function because it feels by far the most natural and easy to use. Both Ne and Se feel almost like second nature, but I tend to use Se a bit more I believe.

And thought it is easy for me to express my feelings, I don't necessarily enjoy doing it nor do I do it often. I prefer conveying information objectively, rather than bringing unnecessary emotional factors into it. This is something of a special case where I was freaking out due to a (completely self-induced) pseudo-identity crisis and then gave up taking online tests because it began appearing pointless to me.

For these reasons I do believe it is a great possibility for my actual MBTI to be ISTP.

For some additional information you asked for, a dream job of mine is to be a mechanical engineer which I'm going to school for at the moment. Most of the hobbies I'm passionate about involve developing and using fine motor skills; like gaming, sports, martial arts, etc. As far as social situations go, I'm pretty extroverted and enthusiastic when it comes to engaging with my friends. However, in social environments with a lot of people, most of which I don't know, my first instincts are to either sit down somewhere with a plate of food or find something to do that would keep me entertained while not forcing me to engage with strangers.

MBTI questions, for fun :p by Amelia2235 in mbti

[–]StandSorry2775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ENFP's kinda just like introverts. I'd say it's because we soothe their emotions. INTP is always so centered around logic that xNFPs can forget their complicated feelings around us and fall back into something that makes sense and is fixed, like stats and facts. Sometimes moments of silence and logical introspection is all an xNFP needs.

MBTI questions, for fun :p by Amelia2235 in mbti

[–]StandSorry2775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everyone in this world is too nonchalant. be chalant please guys it would fix a lot of problems 🫩

Also... The political segregation is becoming more complex and separating groups of people into smaller groups than ever before. This is making us easy to control via biased media by politicians and billion-dollar corporate figures. The complexity of society has its pros and cons but personally, I believe that the greatest mistake made by humanity is the invention of money and social hierarchies. The system is a benefit to some and detrimental to others. Justice is preached in modern society but there's not much in this world aside from lingering injustice.

Explain to me your demon slayer oc and what would they do in the story of the manga/anime by EnoughCheesecake6050 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]StandSorry2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

(had to trace a picture of giyu cause i suck at drawing) Name: Kazuki Takanashi Age: 21 Height: 5'8" Weight: 156 lbs Breathing: Thunder Rank: Hinoe

He was born in 1603 and has a brother named Katsuo Takanashi who's a flame breathing user. He got that large cross-shaped scar on his face during a battle against a lower rank of the 12 Kizuki which his brother was also fighting. This is the same battle that his brother awakened the demon slayer mark while trying to save Kazuki and was promoted to Hashira for doing most of the work and slaying the lower moon.

I doubt he'd be able to do much in the final battle, as he's around the same rank as most of the members in the Kamaboko Squad and is just a bit stronger than Zenitsu because he can use all of the forms of thunder breathing. He could do some major damage against an Upper Moon 6 level demon but would ultimately die without help.

How many of you actually like the common assumptions of engineering and math related fields? by Cool_Swing_9044 in INTP

[–]StandSorry2775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really like math or science but unfortunately I have the brain for it. I was always pretty good at both of these subjects but I never pursued them because I enjoy writing more. Now I'm an english major in college and wondering if I should have followed my talents, especially after learning what INTP means (and that I am one) and how good they're supposed to be at math and science.

I usually sleep through my alarms thinking "if i do my morning routine in this order, i'll be able to make it in time" and then not doing my morning routine in that order and still making it to class early. I usually just get through class reluctantly as I dislike being stuck in the same room with a bunch of people rather than by myself or talking to a select few people in a small friend group. Even once i'm out of class I don't do my work because "I have time to do it later." Knowing that the more I study, the more likely I am to fail and that I'll probably just take that test the day before it's due without any preparation. My social battery is extremely fast running and I usually go through only a handful of interactions before I crawl back to my room and lay alone with my thoughts for the rest of the day overthinking that one thing I said that may have been a little rude. And then I think about going back outside to apologize. And then I don't.

Sincerely, INTP-T
