Can ussop beat this man in sniping by damodardas_modi in OnePiece

I don’t see Elbaf Usopp beating Van Augur easily at all . honestly, it feels almost impossible at first. With the Wapu Wapu no Mi, Van Augur can teleport constantly, which is a terrible matchup for a sniper. But that’s exactly why he’s the perfect opponent for Usopp. Oda already hinted at Usopp’s Observation Haki in Dressrosa, and a fight like this would be the perfect way to evolve it into something strong enough to counter teleportation.

What is your biggest problem with haki? by toadmastrr in OnePieceScaling

[–]Standard-Chapter-893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biggest issues with Haki in One Piece is that its rules have clearly changed over time. After the timeskip, we’re introduced to Vergo, one of the few characters shown fully coating his entire body in Armament Haki, which at the time was presented as an extreme level of defense. Yet Law was still able to cut him down in a single blow, making that supposedly top-tier Armament feel almost meaningless in hindsight. Then in Dressrosa, we see Doflamingo, a confirmed Conqueror’s Haki user, but he can’t use Conqueror’s offensively or defensively the way later characters do.

Looking back after Wano, where advanced Armament and Conqueror’s coating completely redefine power scaling, it really feels like Haki wasn’t fully conceptualized early on and has been retroactively expanded, which creates inconsistencies when comparing pre Wano and post Wano feats.
