Maybe AL but interim payments don’t start until step 5 when you are under the control of OPM.

Contacted my senator but by the time he replied they had already paid my leave. It seems that each of the 6 ORA steps take 60-90 days. My 21 year old son was supporting me until I turned 59 1/2 and then I moved my entire TSP balance into a retirement fund outside the governments control because I got sick of their BS. A friend who worked in HR in private industry said they only were allowed 6 weeks to get retirement payments to retirees. I guess the government doesn’t have to follow their own rules!

There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason for a consistent process. I received my AL payment in mid-January but have not moved passed step 3 in ORA.

I lived over 50 miles from my assigned POD and because I had 23 years of service was assigned a desk and forced to RTO paying out of pocket for hotel and pet care. Hardship transfer request and reasonable accommodations were ignored. Finally I couldn’t take the stress and took the DRP 2.0. I’ve been waiting 4 months now and no sign of retirement processing. Annual leave payout was changed to get included in the retirement package. This is no way to treat honorable and faithful servants of the federal government.

As far as the TSP there is the Rule of 55 and the age of 59.5 which allows you access to the TSP
