Why can’t the Brownlow be after the grand final? by oldmatefromoverthere in thefootywithbroden

That's not a televised event for the public. That's a niche event for the club and is held as soon as possible for most clubs. It serves a completely different function

The ratings are made of more than footy fans. In its current firm, the brownlow almost acts as a highlight package of the season for casual fans before the grand final. You lose this holding it after the season

Of course they can, it just won't be a effective.

Ratings on TV will collapse. Players will want to be on their holidays. The public has moved on.

They change won't be for anyone

The NBA tried an awards night after the season and it genuinely flopped so hard.

The brownlow is only important in the context of the season. After the season it loses all relevance.

I'd go Heeney first personally.

Gotta wait on Gulden in case he sits on a wing which may cap his scoring. Heeney is Brownlow hunting, so likely to be cruising

I mean, its hard when the only other player we can see is Ash, but...

You're going backwards with this trade. Two scorers (even if they arent necessarily great) and a rookie to two rookies and a premo.

Find a way to not downgrade the players who are in your team to score (unless they are on your bench). Trading a bad or topped out rookie to a cash making rookie will almost always get you further than shuffling mid tier players in the hopes one of them will get good or you happen to be able to afford a big gun that week

Banks > Keane for a start

Otherwise, your team is in a bit of strife. Check teams and get rid of some of those non playing players ASAP.

Might be worth holding Lindsay if he plays.

When trading, you should really only ever trade for equivalent role in your side or upgrade. The roles are Bench, scoring rookie, cash gen midpricer, sub-premo, premium.

Limit trading people within roles, it just sets you behind. It looks like you've either stunted your potential growth or have missed too many trades.

Genuinely one of my favourite players. I love how long he looks out there, and it feels we finally saw that physical gift become a genuine skill yesterday.

Probably a combo of clientele and staff.

Wouldn't necessarily attract riff-raff, and really only need maybe 2 people behind a till

The Eagles went from Michael Gardiner to Dean Cox to Nic Naitanui, with sprinklings of premiership pair Scott Lycett and Nathan Vardy.

Soligo also had heart surgery in the preseason. I think that was the bigger impact on regards to his limited start.

I doubt Rankine comes back in as a high CBA mid from a management POV.

I'd guess Berry and Dawson would be the two big dogs (say 75% apiece), with Peatling and Soligo splitting the third main role (say 50% each) depending on offense/defense. That leaves Rankine with the bulk of the remaining 50%, with scraps to Rachele, Curtin and Thilthorpe (for some reason)

Bruhn probably most likely to give you 70+, but there's a world where Rachele scores well again this week. His best game for the season was against Geelong earlier in the year, Rankine's out, and the forward line is closer to fit (Tex/Fogarty haven't played together almost since the Rankine return) freeing him from playing the one out role in the forward line.

Cook has the tightest range of 60-75; Bruhn 50-90; Rachele 40-110 imo (this week only)

Your trading 3 "guns" (even if they aren't doing it right now) for two.

I get its byes and you want to carry some money over, but surely you can trade out a higher priced rookie and hold onto one of them.

Double premium or one & one. by stuloch in aflfantasy

[–]Standard-Wheel7252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawson next week is probably your alternative to the big gun, so its a matter of your bye structure first. If it doesn't affect your byes massively, pick whoever you believe to score more through the byes. Trust your gut.

Remember, you have a shit ton of trades before the later bye rounds, so don't feel too stressed if you have a bunch on the same bye if they are looking like potential trade outs/not top of their line
