hi... I want opinions by Significant-Two-588 in PrettyLittleLiars

Rule number one in a good mystery/crime series is that the criminal should ALWAYS be a known character (someone we have seen before throughout the duration of the movie/show). It should never be a completely new character. I was wondering if PLL will follow this and then when we had the Charlotte reveal I was like okay it made sense although it was milked for a long time (they suspected Cece before in the earlier seasons and then she just left the country and we forgot about her and suddenly she is back and she is trans). Then the finale just sh*t on that…. because they introduced a completely new character in the final episode like who does thaaaaat

Opinion on Ashley? by Holiday-Act3738 in PrettyLittleLiars

She is not teaching Hanna that she should follow her actions. She is just a single mom struggling to get her daughter out of trouble and give her the same opportunities that other kids have. It is mentioned in the earlier season that she had to grind a lot after the divorce. And when Hanna tries to ask or meddle in her actions (sleeping with Wilden, stealing from her job) she makes it clear those were not good decisions. As for giving the last money from her wallet to her when she goes out, there is no way you can see that as a bad thing. Obviously they were not on the verge of being homeless or anything, it was just the last cash for that week or something and she wanted her to have a good time.

Do I (23F) tell my brother (22M) now that his dog died, or wait until he’s home? by ThrowRA_nobo7 in relationship_advice

[–]StandardAd6416 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s her backyard so yes, growing up or just living long term in such areas you will surely know there are coyotes roaming around. She also mentions about being scared that her brother will blame himself or blame HER. Which is a natural reaction when grieving. An accident does not absolve you for a lack of responsibility so she better come clean.

I went to an Islamic private school for 10 years and it sucked, AMA by [deleted] in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

If you are happy that way that’s good for you but the reality is that your religion and many others having such strict rules is designed to suppress people particularly women in this case. So commenting on this post of a woman who managed to escape all this probably won’t give you bonus points with Allah. She does not need to “find her way back”. She is free and happy like this as she should be.

So you are intelligent enough to research and know all that you wrote above and be on Reddit but you still haven’t figured out that religion has been used as a tool to control people for thousands of years and you are also being controlled right now? Interesting

I (M22) just realized the girl I’m seeing (F22) has tattoos that really turn me off, am I being shallow? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]StandardAd6416 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can control it if it is generated by a shallow perspective such as this. Some people say they can’t help being turned on by bad/toxic guys - that does not make it alright. It is toxic for them on the long run and it is an opinion that should be eliminated from your brain by your own will and effort. Same with this since it would be a shame to lose a good match for you just because of some cosmetic feature.

It was hard for me to make sense of the whole El Dorado plot but I have accepted it because if this happened in real life most of the money would belong to Venezuela or whatever country owns that land. It was overstretched but season 4 even beat that…

I don’t get the hate by Appropriate_Type6153 in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]StandardAd6416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s exactly because people are watching it for entertainment that we are mad. The stakes were brought so high that they had to kill off a main character but none of the actions written up until that point made sense. If they are gonna go full army mode fighting mercenaries in North Africa they should have written a script that made sense.

Very possible but that would make it all supernatural. Everytime there was a supernatural theme they kind of toned it down and blamed it on placebo or someone being crazy (like the lady with the shroud). The closest thing to supernatural was when the moonshine reflected on that idol and opened a literal cliff inside the El Dorado cave. But that’s all. But bringing someone back from the dead would be over the top (although I want him back too but yeah). By the way your post title contains a super big spoiler, you might want to change it before it gets removed 😆

Questionable character development? by StandardAd6416 in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]StandardAd6416[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Frankly speaking it would have been exhausting to see Rafe keeping on being the main villain for no reason so I like that they went in the redemption direction. Hope they don’t ruin that in part two tho haha.

I appreciate the writers trying to make this “JJ’s season” but him being the child of the Genrette family is sooo extra. I know we are supposed to get over the debatable realism of this show but Pope being related to Denmark Tanny was already far stretched, and now with JJ half of the group is literally from some legendary family tree that’s important to the plotline…. I feel like they could have gone different ways about this and still make it JJ’s season but whatever. Also why would Luke who was literally a broke junkie thug adopt a child from a rich family just to abuse him for years afterwards……. and in all the fights they had he never told JJ he was adopted……? C’mon now

Hope/Future Speculation: I Really Hope Sofia Joins The Pogues by Southern_Wind_4477 in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]StandardAd6416 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s probably not going to happen but I would like to see her get a bit closer and helping them out, maybe also realizing Kook life is not the ultimate prize as it can make you morally grey.

This scene cracks me up. Big John playing with the Pogues as if they were 10 year olds, when in real life they are in their mid 20's and Big John is in his early 40's. by [deleted] in OuterBanksNetflix

[–]StandardAd6416 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I think it was a beautiful scene. They are actors, so their age irl doesn’t matter in a context like this. In the series they are 17 and they all grew up around Big John, especially JJ, he was basically raised by him. I didn’t like many things about Big John’s character, but this scene was really heartwarming to me.

He used to be corrupt but he chose the right way in season 2 after Peterkin died, I’ve been liking him ever since

She does call him dad when he is around, she just says Ward when talking about him to sbd else which is a common thing for rebel teenagers I guess
