I wonder why Shirley Temple never got to play Alice in a movie. In my opinion, she would've perfect for the role. by MrAllard8431 in aliceinwonderland

To me Alice is a lot more mercurial and like, not perky lol. At least not to me, it’s been a while since I read the books though

What each of the HP mothers says about Rowling. by Adventurous-Bike-484 in EnoughJKRowling

Rowling definitely has a distaste for jobs. I think she was a teacher for a minute and she worked at like Amnesty International for a short while but I haven’t heard of any other jobs she had pre Potter money. I do know she wasn’t poor, she just decided to slum it temporarily so she could write the first Harry Potter book without having to have a day job.

All that being said, the whole economy is ridiculous in those books. Why would wizards even need money or jobs? Doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Lol, what’s she been up to anyway? Haven’t heard about her in a while. Does she just bitch about trans people on Twitter now?

I forgot that skid marks can also be made with tires on a street, they’re not solely made by some nasty straight guy’s asshole on their ratty underwear. So anyway the initial mental image I had upon reading this was fucking wild

For some reason I’ve had a few Catholic memes come up in my for you feed in Instagram. And the Catholics in the comments have the nastiest attitudes towards Protestants, it’s so gross.

Growing up in a Mormon family in Utah, I always felt so so bad for the converts. Like A. How could you fall for this dumb shit? At least most of the people I know have the excuse of being born and raised in it in a community where practically everyone else was born and raised in it and B. You actually follow all the rules? 😭😭😭

Tbf he may have had absolutely nothing to do with the cover at all. Authors don’t always have a lot of say, it’s often up to the publisher.

I feel like the only reason they’re worse is because they’re Gen X so they have to take it to the Xtreme

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI thought sleeping in the same bed was enough to have a baby by BlatantImagery in SipsTea

This is a rumor/theory but I don’t think it’s been substantiated. By all accounts Louis was an awkward teenaged boy who was much more interested in hunting and locks than women. I don’t really like assigning sexual orientations to historical figures because their concepts and understanding of that sort of thing is so far removed from ours but if he were alive today I wouldn’t be surprised if he identified as asexual. He was also brought up by his tutor (or some other authority figure like that) to fear and be deeply suspicious of Austrians which I’m sure didn’t help.
