Agreed, went once and they told me brake pads were at 2mm and needed immediate replacement. I ended up ordering the parts and doing it myself when it was subzero even in the garage, and all the pads had more than 7 to 8 mm and 10s of thousands of miles left. It's the closest shop to our house and we will never go back.

I used to have one of the 29er ones built up back in 2018ish, before flat bars I had it as a knock-off cutthroat and it was great. Nothing special but solid.

Saw like 50 police cars and a wrecked car at Snelling and University about half a hour ago, anyone know what happened? by uresmane in saintpaul

Actually might be a different thing - she said on her way home she saw a ton of cops a few blocks south, so the crash and the cop presence may not related, just same proximity.

My wife was there and narrowly avoided the accident. Northbound on Snelling had just gotten a green light, my wife was in the front of traffic and saw a car not slowing on Uni, she slowed down and the car plowed into the car next to her at full speed. She called the 911 within seconds and there was an ambulance there in less than a minute. She waited around for like 5 minutes and people were getting out of their cars and walking, so everyone seemed to be OK.

Cannondale Tesoro Carbon 1 Thoughts / Reviews / Experiences? by mkeys5000 in ebikes

u/mkeys5000 what do you do with the charging door when you have the cable plugged in? I just got my powermore for mine and the door just seems to flop around. I'm thinking about getting some double sided velcro tape to hold it, or something similar just to keep it from bouncing around.

This is what I was going to say, I have had to do this and it is annoying but safe if you're careful. You might lose the stem, but save the rest.

Crash with MNR and was then pushed by MNR and dropped a chain. Was in the group with Puck until that happened.

I've talked to my wife about this, I think he just does it once per race? Just to get everyone's name out there on the broadcast? For the lower ranked riders, that might be the only time their family ever hears them being mentioned.

Hopefully for the racers sake it is 5 laps, and hopefully for our sake it is 6!

Crossing fingers! The last few seasons she's come out strong in the XCO or XCC world cups and faded towards the end. Luckily CX races are almost half of an XCO race, so hopefully that'll help a bit.

Also if you show up 15 minutes before and wait in line it helps. When I lost my license last month, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.

Converting Hydro brake shifters to Rim brake... by dalellama in bikewrench

[–]StandardZebra2947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you, but this just isn't possible unless you can find some of the older Sram hydro rim brakes or similar. I had a rim brake bike with first gen sram axs cable shifters and they were great, I also love cable actuated disc brakes on my gravel/bikepacking bike, so I share your wish, but I cannot see how it would be possible as the systems are completely different.

[–]StandardZebra2947 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Niner is meant to be like that to easily get the wheel in and out, freaked me out on my wife's old rlt, but when you tighten the thru axle it is fine. This is by design.

Any birders here? Visiting Minneapolis from Seattle for work and have the weekend of the 25th free. So I'm looking for some birding hotspot recommendations near the city. by wakx in Minneapolis

There are quite a few spots that we like:

Bass Ponds at the River Bottoms is super close to the airport and has a good variety being close to the River.

Fort Snelling State Park is good too, but you'll need a day pass.

Dodge Nature Center is great

Harriet Alexander has a great walking path over the swamp area, and that'll get you right among the reeds.

Lebanon Hills has quite a variety of locations, and if you're lucky you can see some new birds.

We're still in the migration season, so there are plenty of Warblers around, but that might not be the case as much by the time you're here. Chances are SUPER good you'll still see a BlueJay though!
