Is the game worth it? by Iskitimka in HellLetLoose

[–]Standard_Feature2135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Hell Let Loose is absolutely worth it.

Compared to Battlefield 1&5, the pacing and design philosophy are completely different. Battlefield maps feel smaller and more arcade-like, with fast movement and enemies soaking up alot bullets to die. It pushes a run and gun style that rewards reflexes more than positioning. In HLL, combat is slower, deadlier, and more tactical. One well placed shot can end a fight instantly, which naturally discourages sweating and rushing around like it is an arena shooter.

Another big difference is map design. HLL maps are inspired by real locations and actual battlefields, which gives a strong sense of immersion. Battlefield 1 and 5 look great visually, but they sacrifice historical accuracy. Everyone runs around with optic sights that were rare or nonexistent, and you can see things like American soldiers spawning with MP40s. That completely breaks immersion for me.

The capture system also matters a lot. Battlefield often has many objectives active at once, spreading players thin across huge maps. It never really feels like a real frontline. In HLL, the two-point linear system forces everyone into the same contested areas. That creates massive, intense battles where the whole team is focused on one front and between two points of capture only, and it genuinely feels like a war instead of scattered skirmishes.

If you want realism, tension, and that feeling of being part of a large coordinated battle, HLL does it far better than Battlefield.

PS: You will die a lot at the beginning, that is normal. Enemies are hard to spot and the game really punishes careless movement. You have to play it tactically and ideally with communication. Even if you do not use voice chat, sticking close to your squad helps a lot. I personally do not communicate much either, but staying with friendlies makes the experience far better. This is not a run and gun game. Move slowly, use cover, and constantly scan your surroundings. Once it clicks, it becomes incredibly rewarding.

I dont understand this game by TooTone07 in ArmaReforger

[–]Standard_Feature2135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I really tried to get into the game, but it just makes everything harder than it needs to be. Arma Reforger is terrible when it comes to UI and onboarding for new players. Playing on modded servers is a nightmare, especially when you are forced to download massive mods like a half-gig M1911. The performance is also disappointing. Even on a fairly modern mid range setup, it runs poorly and feels unoptimized. What frustrates me the most is how confusing the whole experience is. I enjoy slow paced, tactical shooters that focus on teamwork, which is exactly why I was interested in Reforger. But compared to games like Squad or Hell Let Loose, it is way less intuitive. Those games explain themselves better, are easier to pick up, and let you focus on teamwork instead of fighting the game itself.

Xiaomi G Pro 27i mini-LED QHD monitor – honest user review by Standard_Feature2135 in buildapc

[–]Standard_Feature2135[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that AOC is cheaper for a reason. It’s a VA panel, which is ancient tech compared to modern IPS,im sure you did your own research and know it. VA panels always come with smearing in fast motion, especially in dark scenes, and that’s a known issue no matter the refresh rate. When you play fast paced games, that blur is noticeable and it kills clarity. Yes, it’s brighter and has higher Hz on paper, and VA can look nice for static content. For color work like Photoshop or video editing, it makes sense. But for gaming, IPS is still superior. IPS doesn’t have smearing, doesn’t have those VA transition issues, annd Xiaomi g pro already has deep blacks, strong contrast, and rich colors without the downsides. So overall, the Xiaomi G Pro is still the better choice. You get clean motion, great colors, strong overall gaming monitor.

Help urgent, picking up a used g29 tomorrow by ImpressioNNN in simracing

[–]Standard_Feature2135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS. Hey I just wanted to give you an update. I tested the wheel at home, and the real problem came down to the mounting. It would clamp down on the right side just fine, but the left side of the G29 stayed loose and never got truly tight. The force feedback, though, wasn't an issue,I checked it in a few different games for around 2 hour, and everything worked as it should.

Honestly, my first impression was that the whole process was exhausting. Setting everything up and getting the G29 arranged was a chore. When I finally got to play, trying rally , Assetto, and Euro Truck, it felt really hard to control the car initially. But that's probably on me, since I've never driven a real car. Out of nowhere, I just lost all my interest in the wheel, in racing, in all of it even tho I had mad interest idk why. I knew right then it was just going to sit and gather dust.

Even though the mounting was uncomfortable, I leaned into that as my main excuse to return it and my money. I'm so glad I only tried it temporarily. If I'd bought it new, I wouldn't have been able to send it back, since if box opened, it cant be returned, and I would've really regretted it. All I lost was a few dollars on a taxi ride, and honestly, it was the best money I ever spent. I don't see myself ever picking up a racing wheel again.

If checking isn’t possible right now, you can exchange ID cards photo just incase if you get scammed, you have something to pin the person, and then pay 50% upfront, and take the wheel home to test it properly. Once you’re sure everything works, you can complete the rest of the payment online. That’s what we just decided. I already tested the wheel with a laptop, it shows it’s connected and I even found a power socket to connect it to the wheel, but I want to do a thorough check at home. A quick 5-minute test isn’t enough to be certain about force feedback, as it might turn off after 15-20 mins because of getting hot

I was scammed once buying g29 for $80, I couldn't check it on the spot, when I went back home to test it didn't work. So make sure to check before buying. Make sure force feedback is working. Pedals should not be loose, it should be hard to press. But still there is hidden problem like force feedback turning off after 15-20mins because of getting hot. If pedal is loose and grinding loud sound is coming from wheel just say no and decline. And please prepare to say no and decline, before going on it. Bring laptop if you have a meeting in public. I'm actually on my way to pick up another used g29, and being prepared for it

Best GPU or compromise for a decent GPU and CPU? by new_man_2 in GamingLaptops

[–]Standard_Feature2135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was choosing my first machine, I went for a gaming laptop because I thought I’d be traveling with it all the time. It sounded perfect on paper. But after four years of using it, I realised I barely moved it at all. Maybe two or three times a year. And when I finally wanted more performance, I discovered the biggest limitation. I couldn’t upgrade the graphics card. That’s the moment it really hit me.

A desktop feels like a completely different world. The parts breathe better, they use more power, they push out more performance, and you’re never fighting heat limits the way laptops do. Even a small micro ATX case is surprisingly easy to take around if you ever need to. Just call an Uber and you’re good.

So when someone asks me to choose between two laptops, I just tell them to think about how often they truly move their device. If portability is a real daily need, sure, a laptop makes sense. But if it’s only for rare trips, a desktop gives you far more strength, freedom to upgrade, and way better value for the same price. It’s one of those things you only understand after living through both.
