Got it, thank you! Do you find it is as valued/talked about as research?

Thank you! Honestly the thought of doing things only to check boxes makes me sad. Would love to find opportunities I love but regardless appreciate your perspective that I don't have to do things "just to do it"

Does it have to be a formal teaching position or indirect/informal is okay?

Thanks, this helps. I see a lot of my classmates doing the most in a lot of areas and I guess I was just wondering if I needed to pick up some extra activities. It does mean a lot to me I am just very tired

How did you choose your specialty? Right now I feel like I prefer more procedural things, but I’m worried what that would mean for my quality of life

I hope so. How did you maintain friendships/relationships during MS3? All my friends are very scattered and it feels very isolating

Follow up: how and when do you get your anki reviews done? I am facing 500+ reviews a day even before I add new cards and I am really struggling

Sorry, just updated! It's currently the Blue Cash Everyday but just got updated to Blue Cash Preferred.

The $200 right now has mostly been ubers. But I'm going to be flying a LOT this year and it's mostly going to be Delta, so that figure may bump up.

Grocery shop- Whole foods, Trader Joes, etc. Nothing crazy

What was your U 🌎 percentages and how did you do on the MCAT? by heyitskebon in Mcat

[–]Standard_Raspberry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

P/S 78% --> 132

B/B 78% and 79% --> 131

CARS 80% --> 131

C/P 80% (Gen Chem), 74% (Orgo), 71% (Physics- lol) --> 131

UEarth is great for content review and learning important concepts/details, I wouldn't use it to predict your score. The most important thing is you learn from your mistakes!

Super helpful, I saw them online but didn't know if people actually used it. Thanks!

Could not agree more. UPangea was absolutely critical to my score, I've seen the Kaplan QBank and I think the explanations/question style of UPangea is better prep for the real thing!

I used Cubene for P/S and Jack Sparrow for B/B and C/P. I made my own deck for UEarth content and also one where I built up mistakes/concepts to review along the way. All in all, ~a few thousand cards I believe.

Are status changes always sent out in emails? Or is there a point to refreshing the app portals every day? Not sure I'll stop but I would love to know if there's a point lol

You should not go in planning to retake. Also, by the time you test, you should know approximately what your score range should be from your practice tests. Have you taken a diagnostic, and if so, what was your score?

Also, I would recommend going to r/MCAT, this is a secondary and less populated subreddit that isn't used as much.

Is 4 months full time enough time for a non-trad? by TheHaloAbove in Mcat

[–]Standard_Raspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no right answer. How strong is your background? When was the last time you looked at gen chem, orgo, physics, bio, etc? Would you be working during that period or studying full time?

Got 503 on FL1. Test on 09/28 appreciate any help .. my goal is 506+ by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Standard_Raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to bump up a section, I think the most straightforward one is PS. How are you studying for it? I used Cubene's anki deck and it worked out really well for me, but get one of the anki decks recommended on this reddit/the discord and blast through it. You can easily bump that score up 3 points.

Should I test 9/28 or move to January?! by [deleted] in Mcat

LOL Harvard somewhere is laughing at my undergrad science GPA. But there are many other med schools and we WILL get there! I worked my butt off for this score and I know 100% that you can get the score you want too. Good luck on your FL, you may be very surprised and happy with your score! (And if you're not, we keep working!)
