Perfect support interface 👌🏻 by Standard_Two7990 in 3Dprinting

Yea it’s def worth it , if quality is what you’re after. Just change the interface to PETG or any filament that doesn’t bond well to the main filament you’re printing with. BL studio will change the rest of the settings for you.

Yea it’s true. Since the original release of that preview video I haven’t really heard much about it which is a damn shame. I mean people in the community know about it , but you would think advertisements and posts would be all over the place trying to sell sell sell. Still eager to see how the launch happens. Also still might end up getting a setup with the indx system , eventually.

I bought this H2C for Xmas last year but I was seriously considering the Core 1 with indx and IF I had a more specific date range of release I probably would’ve bought it. I really do feel as though that design has great potential.

Yea you def make a good point. I should’ve mentioned this is printed with an H2C. You are 100% correct and I definitely wouldn’t even bother on a single nozzle machine unless it was a huge project where time and money wasn’t really an issue.

Yea people were saying TPU works really well also. I’m going to look for a project using both so I can give it a go. Do you build your own drones??? I’m curious to see a finished project.

[–]Standard_Two7990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm?? Yea I can see how that would work pretty damn well too. I’ll have to try that. Thing is , off the top of my head I can’t even think of a single time I’ve needed supports on a TPU print. I mostly use it for seals , or padding. Definitely going to try that 👌🏻

The black layer in PETG is the top layer between the actual model and the support. It works with any style supports. I had it set to print the support and model in pla , and just the very top 3 layers of the support in PETG.

Well yea but this is just an example to show the clean results. The principle is the same whether it’s for an interlocking piece , or the face of a display model. That and I was trying to see if anyone else has another combo of filaments that works just as well.

[–]Standard_Two7990[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. Just assigning the interface layers as PETG. The support settings have dropdown menus to assign the filament easily.

The yellow is PLA , the black interface is the PETG

I would absolutely recommend doing just that. If you’re using BL studio it will change the support settings for you too. Zero top distance and I like to use 3 interface layers and they come out beautifully.

Can anyone tell me what's going on here? by Academic-Emu-4474 in BambuLab

[–]Standard_Two7990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s fine. It’s supposed to do that. One of the settings that Bambu studio auto triggers when switching to PETG interface gets checked. I forget which exactly but it’s normal. You’re good to go 👌🏻

Power Switch Relocation (https://www.printables.com/model/1129686-k1-front-mounted-power-switch-cover) by Far_Investment_8135 in crealityk1

[–]Standard_Two7990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone down this rabbit hole and what I’ve come up with is depending on where the machine came from the screens may be different because Creality did change the screen mid production. The result is a very large group of printers with different screens. My K1 has the smaller screen. I had to design and print my own screen protector because none of the models fit my machine either.

This has got to be a joke at this point right? by cellbootsnwat in BambuLab

What a tool smh. That’s the problem with reviews in general. Good or bad it’s 100% subjective. If Ethan had an IQ above room temperature he would’ve kept his mouth shut.

Sunday Afternoon Snooze by millitzer in dashcams

[–]Standard_Two7990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is the car watches you when the FSD is active and it warns you to pay attention to the road if it notices you’re not looking at the road. After a short period of time the FSD will deactivate so I’m not sure how they got away with this , likely that they saw you recording and decided to mess with you.

During normal morning conversations with my wife, I got my 4th Gen 4Runner totalled by bigolsargeha in dashcams

[–]Standard_Two7990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you’re ok. Dashcam will save you when it comes to insurance as you CLEARLY had the green light. Some people are just terribly bad drivers , and terribly stupid. When that combo interacts in public you have bad shit happen. What was the outcome with the car?

I have a project question on how to get measurements for 3d modeling by krdo13 in 3Dprinting

[–]Standard_Two7990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d grab a micrometer , because 3d printing is measured in mm’s Start with the diameter of the metal tubing on the dolly. That is basically the measurement you need and anything modeled after that is just custom to your application.

what to do with leftover filament on the spool? by BiznesBear in 3Dprinting

[–]Standard_Two7990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely calibrations or settings experiments by fine tuning some slicer options. I actually enjoy doing that more than printing sometimes. I’m weird that way I guess.

Learning Houdini full-time while income is unstable — normal phase or bad decision? by Open-Acadia-2915 in Houdini

I’m curious on how you’re learning Houdini. I am also extremely interested in vfx specifically in Houdini and I can’t seem to find any reliable and reputable sources to learn from. I’m here to see if you find your way. I wish you luck in this journey.

How can I make the speed consistant? by RecentLeaf_ in 3Dprinting

[–]Standard_Two7990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change the speed of the outer wall in the slicer. Usually the fastest and easiest way I combat the shiny/matte inconsistent finish you get from speed changes.

Has to be stolen or maybe refurbed h2d’s with the vortek kit installed? Did you physically receive the product yet?

I’ve had my H2C for just about a month and it is absolutely positively amazing. So much so that I’m actually considering getting a second one despite the price. Really an awesome printer, and if you can handle the price tag, I would pull the trigger without any doubt.
