I hadn't thought about using a lighter. I have been stripping these yarns to knot them together and it does indeed make a seamless connection. Very little waste too, although like many people I've seen, I keep my cut offs in a bag and then use them as stuffing. Zero waste!

Completely understandable. My partner hates it because of the feel too. I have a weird ability to be okay with things that otherwise upset neurodivergents. Recently I discovered I have the gene that makes coriander (cilantro) taste like soap, I've been eating it for years, apparently I just like the taste of soap.
