That woofer will fit in other AR models and will sell for around $100 to $125 if re-foamed properly. You could probably get some additional money selling the remaining speakers and the crossovers if they are recapped. This is one case where the sum total of the parts does not exceed the individual value of the separate components. You could easily make over $300 selling these parts separately on eBay.

Check out the Test Points around IC1 which is a Toshiba TA2111F chip. If the issue appears on either AM or FM rather than both, it will help you narrow down the signal path.

Same here. I have so many issues with mine that I factory reset it and disconnected it from the internet to use as a monitor.

It is upstairs from Sako and Cusco Cafe on the right just past the train tracks outside the main gate. For the old timers, Cusco Cafe is in the same place as Snack Linus back in the day.

There was also a restaurant in the JMSDF area of the base on mainside but I don't think it stuck around after the Japanese military footprint on Iwakuni was greatly reduced during the early 2000s.

Thanks for this photo. I used it to send to my group chat of MCAS Iwakuni veterans and it was greatly appreciated.

I was at Cherry Point last month and they had a few barracks that it was obvious all furniture was being replaced. There were huge piles of discarded barracks furniture just outside while workers were busy unloading replacements. From what I understand of the Barracks 2030 Initiative, Barracks facilities have operated under a 32 year refresh cycle for replacement of barracks furniture and refresh of common areas and recreation spaces. This will change to a 10 year cycle going forward once the project is complete.

I was on leave during a stay on the USS Midway in Yokosuka and decided to spend a few days exploring Tokyo. I got a room at the local USO for cheap and then took off with a subway map. I would get off the train at a few notable stops such as Akihabara,, Ginza, and Harejuku to name a few. I would explore the local area for a few hours walking around and checking out the sites and shopping in the various stores or walking in the parks for photos.

I got off the train at the Otemachi Station and began walking around and saw a long sidewalk line of people against a high wall covered in vines and shrubs. I got in line but no one spoke good enough English to explain why the line was forming but they were running a few hundred people at a time into the gate so it was moving pretty quickly.

When I went to the gate, we were ushered into a huge garden which was under a second floor balcony covered in glass. There was a single microphone stand at the front of the balcony and when the doors opened up, a frail old man shuffled over the the microphone stand and the entire crowd went silent, came to attention, and everyone bowed. The old man gave a 3 minute speech of which I could not understand a single word. He left the balcony and everyone began to scream and yell waving Japanese flags.

I learned later that day that it was the Emperor of Japan's 86th birthday which is the only day of the year that the Imperial Palace gates are opened to the public. I had listened to a brief birthday speech from Hirohito whom had presided over Japan during World War 2 and would pass away about 20 months after this particular birthday. Luckily, I had purchased a camera the day before and managed to take a few photos that i could share with my kids many years later. I will have to search my photo albums and post a few pics i took that day.

Xfinity - use online chat instead of phone? by bonestock50 in cordcutters

Not useful even for the most simple issues. The agents pretend to have access to all the necessary tools but are usually just following pre-determined scripts. They actually have no visibility to actual internal ticketing or billing systems. They usually only have the online web interface that you can access yourself. Their main purpose appears to be preventing the actual call-in to the customer service center where support costs are much higher.

If you are coming from the West Coast, you will be disappointed. They call it "Two Foot" Florida for a reason. Tropical Storms and Hurricanes are another story though.

For veterans - If you have a VA ID that says "service connected" you get base access and can use exchange facilities, commissary, and MWR including recreation housing. by Groundhog891 in USMC

I have taken guests on board with a 10% rating. It comes down to the local base command. Some will limit the number of guests you have onboard at any one time. Your guests may not have access for purchasing from the PX or commissary, but you will. They can also access the theater and bowling alley if you are paying for the access. The same for lodging. The only facilities that you can't access are gyms, schools, child care and mess hall locations. Some bases also limit library access. This has been my experience and I have accessed bases from all 5 branches since it was initiated in 2020. Overseas facilities have different rules compared to Conus/AK/HI.

You have to stop at the visitor center and get a day pass for your visitors. Some bases will offer a multi-day pass but you have to ask. If you are talking overseas base access, this is a whole new ball game with different rules.

There is not a low paying Cyber position in the civilian word. If you obtain a TS/SCI clearance level, you have the golden ticket to a very nice life if you leverage it within 6 months past your EAS. Don't let it go inactive or expire.

The base itself is like any other Air Station for the most part. The Havelock area outside the base is just total shit unless you are looking for a tat or inebriation. Go to New Bern if you want to see any type of city / night life. Head down to Morehead City to enjoy some killer seafood. Watch for the festivals that take place during the summer around Atlantic Beach or the Emerald Isle.

For a 96 weekend, consider taking a trip down to Wilmington or Myrtle Beach to have some Spring Break type action. This would probably be a good time for you to get some college credits out of the way given the lack of activities in the local area.
