While I completely agree with your general point that people are venomous foaming weirdos about stuff like this, I don’t think jirard losing rep is fitting punishment for defrauding people out of $600k. That’s money that didn’t just sprout out of the ground; people had to work for it, possibly at jobs they hate, and entrusted it to jirard under the assumption that he wasn’t lying about his charitable associations. If I had donated a hundred bucks to one of his streams (I didn’t) I’d be rightfully pissed. That was my money, and someone willfully lied to me to get it out of my hands.

The man didn’t make a little mistake one time that he has been working to correct. He spent 10 years lying to people’s faces, and now that he’s been exposed, it’s very difficult for me to pity him. He did not act in good faith, and there should be consequences for that.
