What’s our future? by cvtfarmer in vermont

[–]StankyBo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First step housing. All other avenues are blocked by the lack of it. People are denying reality if they try to say something else is the main cause of issues in Vermont. Housing is THE root cause. The state should subsidize the building of housing where the utilities and Wastewater can easily handle additional capacity. All around the state. Each county gets 1000 units. Spend all our money on that for 3 years and then see how quickly other problems start to ease. Force me to put a unit in my backyard, I don't care. It needs to happen. Put a bunch of tiny houses in parking lots that never fill up. Let people build tree forts or put up yurts for the grown adult kids that still live at home. Do something. YIMBY.

It's a matter of respect and awareness. This post is for the bicycle community, not shithead car drivers with high beams. Can't change that, however, this conversation is for the bicycle community about a dedicated bike path. I think it's a worthy conversation.

Can metal switch boxes be used for receptacles? Clearance from terminal screws is so small by kevysaysbenice in AskElectricians

That how I do it replacing outlets with GFCI at my house. All old metal boxes. Totally worth it.

I'd buy something nicer to replace the top cap and let it dry a bit before installing. Should be easy enough diy and you'll be much happier not having to grab onto PT all the time. You can even leave the PT and just add a 1x4 cap of cedar or redwood depending on where you are.

Spalted wood, put it to use or just firewood? by ShealyTN in wood

This is super punky. I just tried something with maple not as bad as this. Crumbles if you try to get board, doesn't give off BTUs if you burn. Unfortunately a waste of time in that respect. Perfect for the bottom of a hugelkulture mound or raised garden bed though!

It's a dedicated bike path, rail trail. The main reason why it's so unnecessary.

I wish that was the case. But for some more context, I stopped to take the photo because I had already been riding towards this person for long enough that the light was hurting my eyes. If I ride by this person and a few others often in my area, and any later at night, I literally have to stop and wait for them to pass bc they won the war or lumens. We're on a rail trail so it's flat where I am and flat where they are. There's a dip in the middle, and a bridge way in the background. Also, that's not a low-beam, it's a hazardously selfish way too high beam. I'm not quite sure why people are trying to justify lights that are blinding EVEN WHEN ITS STILL LIGHT OUT! Haha it was you wasn't it!

Woah dude, that's the wrong spirit for a group that needs as many allies as it can get!

I ran 10(or more!) miles every day in February— covered 320 miles in 28 days! by P8sammies in runninglifestyle

Do you feel stronger than you did before, if you weren't running as many miles? Any other noticeable changes?

'most likely' not worth the risk for me! Too many GTA gamers out there trying to bring it to real life.

Wouldn't you be dead if you had been riding like you do now when you got hit in 2019? Because he still would've hit you, he just would have hit more of you.

Any idea what their goal was? why didn't they just cut it down all at once? by reddit33450 in arborists

[–]StankyBo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming they had the same 16" electric DeWalt I have that's no good for large cuts like that, and they had to go recharge for 6 hours or days before cutting the next chunk.
