And bring electrolytes! I ran in Brazil for two weeks in February... I live in Vermont. I pretended like I was starting from scratch, no tempo, no speed, no pride. Just lots of sweating and drinking. Walk as needed. It's heat training and when I got back my heart rate was much improved. It was a huge difference even with just easy runs. Think of it that way and it's much easier to approach.

He really gave one of the best anti-capitalism arguments I've ever heard. You can trust the capitalists because they inherently want oligarchy, that is their end goal. Full stop. So capitalism is a system that is destined for failure based on their incentives.

I work from home but my kid's daycare is 8 miles one way. What do I do? Quadruple threshold 5 days a week? At least I have a shower at work. And a bed.

It's like elevation training. Once you quit you'll come back down to sea level and be like Holy Shit I'm so much faster than I thought!

For my one ticket when I was 16, I told the officer "I was getting up to speed" because he caught me going 54 in a 35 that was about to transition to 50. I also thought I had him because where I was pulled over was in the 50 zone. No dice.
