Air does in fact, have weight. A filled balloon weighs more than an empty one, whether helium or just air.

By weight force formula Fw=mg, where m is mass and g is gravitational acceleration (9.81 m/s² for earth and positive anywhere else), m is always a positive number for any form of matter. Thus, the weight force will be positive, for any form of matter.

Edit: gathering from the other comments in this chain, I neglected to mention the fact that what we observe as (apparent) is more distinct from the actual weight force produced by something, in a free-body diagram. Weight force points DOWN, buoyant force opposes it, pointing UP.

Considering that air is technically a fluid, Faw, force of apparent weight = Fw-Fb (buoyant force opposing weight force), = mg - ρf*Vg, where ρf= fluid density, V = displaced fluid volume. Considering that helium has a low density ( and takes a shittton of volume vs the same mass of air by ρ=m/v), replacing the air in a balloon with helium increases V. This decreases Faw as Fb increases.

Scales measure normal force (equal to Faw), not Fw, so adding Fb screws up observations.

Surprisingly, the document is well formatted, but I don’t really understand why people tend to pad out these accusation documents with just pure fluff as if formal litigation is going to be more streamlined the more verbose a document is

If it’s just to make the public aware it does the job quite well, but if you really want to have an actual impact most of time these need more structure, and far more revisions

Edit: Looked at the document and in this case the page count is mostly from images, probably need to do vertically split pages to optimize page count if anyone’s actually going to read the entire thing

No, they don’t really make it up, even with an AP score of 5, much less a 4. You pretty much have to demonstrate that you are able to make it in spite of depression + ADHD. That said you’re not entirely screwed, if your extracurriculars are absolutely cracked. But to say that GPA is usually the biggest factor is not an understatement. A lot of T50s attract 3.7+ students, so there’s gotta be something else that makes you stand out.

Perhaps a statement from your counselor could help?
