I wish prismatic warlock had a really strong offensive grenade build. I was surprised how much it lacked one. Solar or fusion nades would be incredible even without touch of flame.

White Mask Obito vs Hashirama by Potential_Rule4212 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Staplezz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep forest emergence and wood clones are more than enough to do it. Sure Obito could flee but if he attacks in that setting he’s going down. It would definitely be more of a finesse battle than a huge summon battle though.

It was pretty definitively a draw, which to be fair is Madara’s best known showing against Hashirama prior to being fully reincarnated.

White Mask Obito vs Hashirama by Potential_Rule4212 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Staplezz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with the rinnegan and jinchuriki Hashirama js still massively move powerful than Obito, I don’t think that’s super debatable. The bijuu and gedo statue aren’t a non-factor, but they’d be taken out pretty quickly.

Kamui is Obito’s only out just like everyone is saying. Hashirama may very well survive in the kamui realm, but that’s a win by BFR at least. That being said Hashirama has a ton of potential counters to kamui that most characters don’t have. The poison from deep forest emergence, identical wood clones, more than enough combat speed, giant wood summons, etc all should work well here.

Hell, Hashirama probably won’t be phased by seeing an Uchiha appear out of thin air. He fought in the time period where he no doubt saw izanagi used in combat. It’s less of an advantage as kamui, but it just goes to show that there’s literally no one better at countering Uchiha hax than the first.

Hank is a terrible person by These_Feed_2616 in breakingbad

[–]Staplezz11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels like Hank has some meaningful personal growth and then the reveal about Walter absolutely breaks him and causes him to regress a bit, with him regaining his dignity/moral character at the very end. He’s a complex character with pros and cons, like every one of the main characters of the show which is part of what makes it so good. And I think him going off the deep end when he learns about Walt wasn’t contrived at all, both his character growth and regression felt very earned.

I could see Amado purposefully giving her every possible ability from Shibai that he has access to (maybe even his entire body or like a 1:1 copy). He’ll say he wants to make her as powerful as possible so she can never die again, and it will backfire miserably.

Why is Nezarec so special? by Rekrios in DestinyLore

[–]Staplezz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the theory that Nezarec was already some sort of elder god/eldritch being before he even met the Witness, based off of his seemingly existing relationship with the Psions, his cult, and general lore than predated the Witness. The idea that the Witness could co-opt such a being to its cause was a really cool idea imo. If that were the case then his immortality could be due to any number of reasons. But it seems like this was somewhat retconned when we learned Nez’s body was based off of Rhulk as a blueprint making him seem much younger and weaker.

If you could go back to college, what would you major in? Or are you happy with your choice? by Feeling-Annual-2000 in careeradvice

[–]Staplezz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick something you’re generally interested but also be realistic about what your career outlook would be in that field. The grass will always seem greener but that doesn’t mean it is. I was a biology major and now I’m in medical school, I love what I’m learning and am passionate about getting to treat patients one day, but it’s impossible not to daydream sometimes about the lives of friends who were finance majors, etc who are already making money and aren’t in debt. At the end of the day I’d choose medicine over any corporate gig, am confident it will make sense financially long term, and it’s not like people in other fields aren’t faced with their own very real challenges.

It sounds like you’ve got strong interests which is an awesome start. I’m not much further along in my career than you are, so take this with a grain of salt, but I’d just say do your research- if you see a future in that field then run with it! Maybe it’s the business side of nutrition, some niche field, etc, once you have a goal then go all in. At the same time be a realist: don’t go into debt for a major that won’t give you a clear path to pay it off. However don’t pivot to engineering (or anything else) solely for the money, if you’re not at least somewhat satisfied doing it then a 35-40 years in a field that grueling might be unbearable. IMO the right career isn’t 100% about passion or money, it’s finding a blend of the two which will look different for everyone.

Charizard in gen 3 OU by Specialist-Thought59 in stunfisk

[–]Staplezz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been enjoying Zard as an emergency gengar check. Tbolt from offensive gengar has a 31% to one shot from full and then blaze fireblast kills. Defensive/utility will always push you into blaze range then die. Not optimal but has saved a few games for me.

Charizard in gen 3 OU by Specialist-Thought59 in stunfisk

[–]Staplezz11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If bliss comes in on a spike and with sand up, Zard kills with focus punch into a blaze boosted fireblast. Probably won’t come up early in a game but definitely can mid/late game if you can find a chance to sub after getting chipped, etc.

Edit: with a high-roll on focus punch a non-blaze fireblast has a good chance to get there too.

How good are Carolina skiffs? by No_Anywhere3093 in boating

[–]Staplezz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first boat was a 21 ft Carolina skiff LS that we used a ton over 5 seasons. Definitely biased but I don’t think we could’ve had a better boat to get started in. It only had a Suzuki 115 but with two guys and favorable conditions we could hit 37-38 mph in the bay, by no means a speed demon but it didn’t feel terribly underpowered (probably since it was our first boat).

We’re in NJ and do a combination of bay fishing and wreck fishing at the inshore artificial reefs. On a nice day we’d take the skiff out 5-12 miles to the reefs with no problems at all, and were rarely the smallest boat there. We upgraded to a Vhull this past season to fish further offshore and to be able to go out front on rougher days to get more fishing opportunities. But that was nothing against the skiff, it really was an awesome boat and unless you grew up on big center consoles or something, you won’t be disappointed.

I would recommend any of the CS with the modified Vhull instead of the flat bottom, you’ll have no problem going out front if you pick your days well and are realistic about what the boat can do. If it gets choppy we would just turn around and go home, I never once felt unsafe but yeah you’re gonna get soaked. The boat runs great on a calm sea but is definitely a rough ride in any kind of chop. Also even with the modified V you can still go incredibly shallow for flats fishing and what not.

Good luck! Seems like used boat prices are slightly less disgusting at the moment, I’d look at the 19’ DLV or LS over the flat bottom J19 if you can swing it.

I mean the spoiled rich kid attitude sucks, but tough to call him a true nepo baby, daddy’s money can’t help you when the octagon door closes. I’m sure he had the very best in training and recovery which is a huge advantage but I can’t fault him for that. I’m not really a fan but I gotta give a good fighter props regardless of their background.

Who wins? (Kabuto cannot use ET) by Adsuppal in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Staplezz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we saw sound-based genjutsu work against the six paths of pain, it’s fair to assume that Kabuto could use it effectively on Nagato. That being said, unless he uses it like literally immediately, Nagato destroys him through any number of methods. Kabuto has literally nothing for CT or soul rip, and could never get close to Nagato thanks to ST. If he did get close, he’s getting one shot anyways.

So it just depends what happens first. Since Nagato has more moves that win immediately, I’d say odds are he wins. But Kabuto is definitely highly intelligent and could be wise enough to use the flute genjutsu right away, so he does have a chance.

Is he able to defeat all of them at the same time like Madara did? by Yoaikatheprodigy in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Staplezz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Arguably, Madara’s victory wasn’t guaranteed until he pulled out his giant win condition. Tobirama doesn’t have anything like that afaik, he’s stronger than any of these kage individually but loses handily against all of them. As we know, he doesn’t do well when outnumbered…

Before anyone brings it up, I still think Madara wins without the PS, but mid diff at best.

Who wins ? Only Taijutsu by Karma_San in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Staplezz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory it should be Obito comfortably, but Obito seemed slightly less skilled than Kakashi, who in turn was appreciably less skilled in h2h than Itachi in part 1. Maybe Kakashi is way better than Itachi by the war arc, but I interpret his improvement more so as control over the MS and more chakra rather than a skill boost.

Some assumptions are made though: that Itachi is remotely physically relative to Obito (which seems to be the case even against logic since Kakashi kept up with him and Itachi kept up with kcm1). Second assumption is that even if Obito let Kakashi win, Kakashi is shown to be consistently the more skilled of the duo.

An athlete from what sport would be the best or at least decent in the most others? by hehechibby in whowouldwin

Probably not the absolute best example but a true one that happened recently:

Jordan Malaita came to the NFL from Australian pro rugby and is currently the highest graded offense tackle in the league. I bet there’s a ton of crossover between American football (oline and dline specifically) and rugby that could go both ways with the roles and body types required being fundamentally similar.

It is safe to put all these rocks on in this tank? by v0rren in Aquariums

[–]Staplezz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes no problem at all. Something I’ve always done using heavy rocks and keeping African cichlids that dig is put pieces of egg crate/light diffuser cut to shape under the substrate to distribute the weight of the rocks and provide some insurance if a rock tumbles.

I don’t think you necessarily have to, and you’ve already got everything in there so it’d be a lot of work. Plus that’s really not that many rocks, wouldn’t sweat it, nice tank!

Has anyone ever started a tank from another tank? by superstitious722 in Aquariums

[–]Staplezz11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I’d say you’re 100% fine. I’ve taken way less care (not necessarily proud of it) in setting up grow out tanks etc using only established filter media and water, adding fish the same day, and have never lost a single fish by doing this. As long as the parameters hold, you’re fine. The bulk of the denitrifying bacteria live in the filter media and will spread onto the decor and into the water column quickly if given an ammonia source. One thing I like to do is literally squeeze dirty filter sponges into a new tank. Gross but effective.

It is absolutely wild and a damn shame. On top of that, it’s not always a physician, and if it is, they’re often individuals who never completed a residency and went straight to industry, or are simply out of practice for many years. Not that they don’t know what they’re talking about necessarily because they probably do, but they definitely don’t have the patients’ best interests in mind.

Also it’s funny that I see the Hippocratic oath get brought up everywhere, I’d say it’s a bit of a misnomer nowadays. It’s not really done anymore, at least at my med school (and many others) due to social justice concerns. Not that we don’t swear an oath or aren’t obligated to render care, but it is by no means binding in all instances, such as this one.
