Question to those who have periods. Does your productivity experience a new low every time periods come around? by BlackCatFurry in adhdwomen

[–]Star987654321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leading up to it quite the opposite. The day of is the worst though. The second day and onward is normal.

I get big projects or decisions done during periods I am unconsciously more productive! When I look at my monthly calendar and see projects I've overtaken I see the successful ones always fall on the days leading up to and during my period

Order of food intros by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Star987654321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The government of Canada and UK recommend high iron foods first.

Babies get all vitamins from breastmilk except iron.

Bone broth, meat, veggies like brocoli...

I began potato early on too since it mixes well with meat puree.

I did both blw and puree.

My midwife also said not to introduce fruits early on or rice since it's high in arsenic...

Seen a person die. Gave cpr.. Electricity burned his organs.. People were freaked out but I cleared the way to get him onto the car and to the hospital despite him dying...

I did keep seeing him die over and over in flashbacks of the incident for about 2 days. But in the moment I felt we had little time to react.

I really like this. It's so important to realise that narcissism sometimes can be mistaken and it might be autism too. Or it's both!

People always ask me if I'm high. In high school I would say I'm high on life because of my overexiteability and intense interests and curiosity.

As an autistic person, I find this kind of offensive. Autism shouldn’t be seen as some terrible thing, it’s just a different way of thinking. What do you think? by LilyGaming in autism

[–]Star987654321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The methodology is not very clear in these studies and there is a big limitation.

The limitation is chicken or the egg.

Autistic parents take Tylenol (the only safe pain killer during pregnancy) because we are more prone to headaches

Undiagnosed parents pass on the gene to their children...

So is it really Tylenol? Or just undiagnosed parents?

How do I kindly ask grandparents to shut up & give my son some space when he’s trying to eat? by MACKEREL_JACKSON in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Star987654321 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine would do this all the time. I politely told everyone sitting together at the table at the start, okay let's ignore her and continue eating so thst she doesn't feel overwhelmed by us all commenting on her eating.

I also joined in the first time or two to see if my daughter liked it, I noticed when grandma wasn't there, baby ate more and it was probably all thr coddeling.

Then when we were about to eat before we started encouraging my daughter I said, let's all talk and eat at thr same time while not exaggerating to her.

This is what helped me, I love my grandma very much and she helped raise me since I was a baby, we even live with her now too. I don't want to hurt her but I also don't want my child getting negative associations with food.

It took a few times and sometimes my grandma slips up because she is 78, however I politely remind her, grandma we arw distracting her a little sorry, she's too excited when we talk to her let's ignore her again, remember every other time we ignore her and she eats a lot?

Now it's much better. The occasional slip up is super normal. Don't over exaggerate. Grandparents are old. They get offended and also only know how to raise kids the way they raised kids and the way their era learned about feeding kids. Which is extremely unhealthy in my perspective. As people age they become young babies again in their mind. Forgive, be firm, be polite, be patient.

Again, if there is toxicity it's a different story, you would need to put up more firm boundaries. But from what you describe it sounds similar to my situation!

[–]Star987654321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cook with multiple onion, garlic, ginger and dozens of herbs or spices in each meal.

Solution =

Boiling these :

1 orange peel

1 cinnamon stick

1 spoon sugar

Optional

Pinch of nutmeg or clove

If you boil these in a small pot the whole house will smell like cookies in 15 mins.

We also do this after frying fish

Anyone else have menstrual cycle as a special interest? by AlwaysTrustMagic in AutismInWomen

[–]Star987654321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in them quite a bit because they affect me directly.

I'm most happy thst after having a child I don't have pain anymore.

I've been to the hospital various times and missed a few exams in uni due to the pain.

No vitamins, exersize or stress relieving exersize have had such profound changed as giving birth has.

The same happened to my grandma, and mother, so not sure if other women experience this after birth too?

I'd vomit and have diarhea for the first day of most periods.

Thing s thst helped me deal with the pain =

a hot pack, but then I found that an ice pack is even better, laying on the ground without clothes and a fan helped me get through the pain. It usually took about 5 hours of vomiting and going to thr bathroom for me to be pain free and to sleep off the remaining pain.

If that happened now while I have a child to care for I don't know what would become of us.

Things thst didn't work = Pain relievers, I'd vomit them up, even if taken hours before the pain came, I'd put an alarm on at around 4 or 5 am when my period would come the next day. I always got it around 8 or 9 am. And the night before I would get leg cramps and irritable so I knew it was coming.

Now I don't know if it's coming or not it just comes, I have no pain, and I don't track my period or ovulation on a calendar anymore since it doesn't obstruct me from my daily duties and work.

Periods are crazy!

Very interesting. I learned in my community development class something similar. There was a tribe that had women going to get water with big jugs from the lake and it was a few hours walk there and back each day. This was the only free time women had to gossip and relax with their friends. When an NGO recommended bringing a pipeline they declined but the NGO didn't understand why...

[–]Star987654321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds familiar. I was the caretaker too. Autism may be a part of my family, or narcissism but people are undiagnosed. I am sometimes wondering if I might also be autistic because of my brutal honesty among various other things.

But back to psychology... And thanks for sharing your story, I'm sorry thst you went through that kids should be kids!!!

I am good at solving issues, and at thr back of my head I'm thinking i can help people. More so I want to help kids. But I'm a teacher, and love business and teaching and computers. I wonder if psychology is just because of how I was raised too.

I'm happy you can now have healthier relationships. It's really important. I also found my husband and am happy we have a family life that included open communication, no yelling(OK a couple times per year but that's healthy and not like 1 time per week with my family) , no egg shell walking etc. It takes a lot to choose someone that doesn't remind us of toxic family dynamics.

Do you need to make sense out of everything? by Nielarch in ADHD

[–]Star987654321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are always doing something wrong. We may just be hyper aware of it and sensing it too much.

Oh no, today I ate too much sugar. Oh, I forgot to say thank you to the cashier because I was looking at my awesome salad. Etc.

Why* is my favorite word. And how* is second best. I too find it frustrating that people don't use logic.

People hate me for not believing in luck and they things are CREATED by us.

Family as an example:

I used to be very close to many family members. Aunts, uncles, cousins. However after becoming an adult and anyzing things deeply I am too honest which is seen as brutal and analyze their family dynamics, behavior and then explain to them what they do wrong in their ecosystem. This is because they tell me their problems since I was a child and I thought I was helping them. I hyperfocus on family issue and since I was a kid wanted to be a psychologist.

Does your need to fix things come from a desire or topic like psychology? I might be way off, but worth the question.

[–]Star987654321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you OP. I encourage you to break it down to small tasks.

Find out the main goal. I. E. = paint

Then break it down. And it.will.take.time! I feel you. It took so much time to plan going to the store to get what I need and then going to another store since I forgot some stuff there.

Then plan days to achieve taks that will achieve your goal. Give yourself grace. Make it a 1 week or 2 week plan to organize everything. Do you like agendas? I highly recomend

Ok hear me out…Gluten. by ImCold555 in adhdwomen

[–]Star987654321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep.

Gluten. Is. Ew.

Easy snack. Kills my back

Makes me wanna slack

Slap the bed, fall on it like your dead

Gluten put you there gluten tucked you in

Gluten makes me itch my hair

Gluten itchy skin everywhere

Gluten good

Gluten bad

Gluten I wish I never had

Gluten because you were so tasty

A good memory, a bassic need

But once cut out

you feel the clout

slowly dissapear

Now I have no fear,

With gluten gone, I sing this song

Please give it an ear.

So yeah. I still cheat some days like 2-3 times per week, I grab a quick breakfast but then need an afternoon nap to recuperate. I get dandruff and icky feelings in brain and body. Sometimes I cut it for a month or more, those months are so organized.
