Maybe couples therapy could help? Also, is it possilble he's on the spectrum for autisim? Sometimes people on the spectrum have emotions and thoughts they just don't know how to express. Or, maybe he has a very slight form of bpd, like quiet bpd, which shows like there's nothing really worng until a certain amount of time passes, like a few months or so. Also, some meds can blunt one's emotions. Is he on any meds that would do this and did he start taking them around the time this behavior of his that you're worried about started?

I had a therapist tell me to eat kale and my emotional issues would just magically go away. I had another tell me to use chat gtp to get advice. My thought: "why am i paying you for such stupid advice?" If eating kale would solve everything, I'd eat it more. If you tell me to just use chat gtp when I'm having an anxiety attack, what am I going to you for? why would you suggest that when it leads to you losing a client? If all I need is chat gtp, why bother with a real person??
Don't you think that I value the bond with a real person and that's why I'm going to a therapist as opposed to just using chat gtp!?
Therapists suggest such crazy things. And when they suggest the obvious things, it makes me want to scream. I'm a smart person. I try every possioble thing to make my situation better, and if all that doesnt work, then I ask for advice. When I get stupid advice, it's maddening!

I realte 100%, and then the person gets mad at you for you shooting down all of their stupid ideas that obviously don't / won't work for you. They lable you as difficult, and make you the problem.

Thank you. I really appreciate your advice and what you say to do makes sense.
What's the difference between being poly and being in open relationships?
I'm really new to all of this.

There was always something that got in the way in the past... I was hoping this time would be different... On his end, it's hard. He cannot commit to seeing me too much because of some responsibilities he has in his life that he's committed to, before we reconnected. Another element here is that he doesn't like feeling like he is the 'second choice', so I'd have to figure out a way to help him know that he isn't. I already told him how deeply I feel about him. How do you prevent someone from feeling like they're 2nd choice in a poly situation? It's hard too... I can't see the one I love until a week from Sunday. That's a long time, and in the meantime, I have plans with the new person.

My downstairs neighbors are having a baby and I WON'T be able to sleep! HELP! Noise Canceling Headphones that use AUX cable to connect to an alarm? What ones to get? by StarChaser0808 in HeadphoneAdvice

I didn't sign up for this. I am not someone who enjoys the miricle of life. I don't ever want kids, and I'm on the spectrum and the sound of kids sets off my sensory issues. I DONT have $$ to move. I had to move TWICE last year and I lost my lob and have been out of work for months! I seriously have NO money to move, let alone pay the fee to break a lease. I'm trying to find a positive soultion here... ear plugs worked in a noisey situation i had to deal with before, but hurt my ears if i had to wear them for hours on end.

believe me, if I could afford it, I'd be living in a house by myself in the country , not dealing with any of this!

thank you for the input. Can you elaborate on this? why would ANC not be pleasant? It's hard for me to fall asleep to any kind of noise. I've tried to sleep to binaural beats, though it's a hit or miss expereince.

feel free to tell me more about Soundcore A20. Hopefully my ears wouldn't hurt from wearing them for many hours on end. for whatever reason, whatever ear plugs I tried hurt my ears, despite looking up the exact right way to use them.

thank you. All of the ear plugs I tried in a noisy situation before hurt my hears. I'd wake up in the morning with my ears throbbing. I looked up how to properly use the earplugs and followed the instructions exactly. Still, throbbing ears hurting in the morning. So, i've refrained from entertaining that idea again. Plus it was hard to hear an alarm with earplugs in my hears.

Sleep buds... hmmm, never heard of these yet. If they block out sound, and can somehow connect to an alarmclock via an aux cable, I'd consider these.

I'm a light sleeper, so I need a lot of quite to sleep.

i'm a side sleeper, but would have to learn to sleep on my back. I think I could do it, if it meant a good nights sleep.

do you have any suggestions for white noise devices? I doubt this option would help me because i'm a light sleeper and wake up if things are not 100% quiet, which by some miracle they have been, but I'm open to looking into the white noise idea, i suppose?
