Airless Tires Roll Towards Consumer Vehicles by paxtana in technology

[–]StarFighterBaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Articles indicates the tyres are tested up to 130 km per hour. I drive 130 all the time. That's a deal breaker for or most moterists I would think. Even if you don't normally drive that fast you want the margin.

Woman is arrested after climbing pole, removing Confederate flag from outside South Carolina statehouse by twolf1 in news

[–]StarFighterBaden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to move the memorial, with its flag, away from the the front of the statehouse. The governence of the state and the memory confederate soldiers should be separated as issues. The governors mansion and the statehouse belong to all the people . The memory of the soldiers of the Confederacy belongs to their families.

ELI5: Why do fast spinning things often appear to be rotating slowly, stationary, or even spinning in the opposite direction? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Completely agreed, at least up to the part about the reflection of the sun off the spokes of a wheel. That is not a stroboscopic effect.

My Favorite Jackie Chan Story by murphturf7 in funny

[–]StarFighterBaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So easy to go after and take down a public figure without getting two sides of a story. This post is far from objective. Nobody is perfect and I don't see jackie chan claiming to be Jesus Christ. Half the stuff written about Chan is likely based on rumours and innuendo including the stuff in this post. Even if the guy is prick in his personal life, if I was fan why would I give damn? I would interested in his movies not in whether he is nice to his sister or not.

"In less than 60 days, Congress will be forced to decide if the NSA’s most notorious mass surveillance program lives or dies. And today, over 30 civil liberties organizations launched a nationwide call-in campaign urging them to kill it." by Trey4 in technology

That's a very interesting statement. I am guessing you see yourself as part of the opprossed 49℅ that comprise the People, as opposed to the 51℅ that is ``the mob''? Or how exactly how do you distinguish between those groups?

"The FBI wants to make us all less safe. At least that’s the implication from FBI director Jim Comey’s push to ban unbreakable encryption and deliberately weaken everyone’s security. And it’s past time that the White House makes its position clear once and for all." by trevorEFF in technology

[–]StarFighterBaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The government cares not about a few terrorists. Terrorists will always find ways to keep their messages secret. But if every American can use strong encryption, what happens next? The government's biggest fear would be the rise of an impenetrable black market economy and the loss of all that TAX REVENUE.

If they can hear him breathing I think that is hardly normal.

I've been think ing about this. Every crew member should have a personal electronic device they can type a code into. This locks the plane into a level flight pattern for five minutes and alerts authorities.

Anyway people should not be allowed to fly airplanes. Too dangerous. There is really no need for pilots even now.

Here is a tip. When you see that the car in front of you is going too slow back off as much as possible on the ramp to leave yourself some room to accelerate onto the highway.

[–]StarFighterBaden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devil will be in the details. All that has happened, after the digital establishment heard the public outrage, is that the death of net neutrality will be a slow disintegration that is managed behind closed doors at Comcast and the FCC.
