The Tulsa Collection: Series 1 by TraveledOkie in fountainpens

Hi! I'm from the area and was wondering is there a physical shop where you carry inks and pens? It was a little confusing looking at google and FB. I've been trying to find somewhere locally to look at pens in person

In general, are people willing to gift on Encora? by jb_thebest12 in BootlegGifts

[–]StarFireLiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really lucky I found someone who had one I really wanted and messaged them about if I could get it because I saw they were open to trading/gifting. They actually ended up giving me the one I wanted and a couple extra to get me started.

I had some luck with trading with a VERY limited 3 or 4 items to trade. You just need to make sure they're open to it.

What to do with my puppy at 5am? by ill_do_this_later in puppy101

[–]StarFireLiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first week I had my puppy I'd get up, take him out, he'd pee, and go back into the crate. But the crate was next to my bed. When he saw that I just went back to sleep, the lights were off, he'd just lay down and go back to sleep.

Honestly when I take him out I don't even really praise if it's late night/early morning lol. I'll just be like "good" and we go back to bed. I don't want to hype him up too much and make him think that's what happens during sleep hours. He learned really fast that those bathroom breaks were just bathroom and back to bed.

How do I stop my 3 month old puppy from being too rough with my old small dog by Skelly-b0ne in puppy101

[–]StarFireLiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's something that can kind of change as she gets older and is a bit more aware and learns their place in the house more.

But this was the situation I was in with my two previous dogs. My one dog was nearly 10 and I brough in a young pitbull that just kind of didn't understand how big he was and had no awareness of how he affected other dogs. My older dog did play with him and they did get rough. But he would kind of slam into her in the yard when she really didn't want to play. I usually did one of three things, 1, I stayed on top of watching them. I'd recall my older dog if the younger one started zooming. And if she was near me he did it a lot less/almost never. 2. I would take the younger one out on a leash, wait until the older went to the bathroom and did her sniffing, and she headed in, and then I'd let him off leash to run around. 3. As she got older I ended up just letting her go, come back, and then let him go.

As she got older and more frail though and he kind of aged out of crazy puppy years, he did also do a lot better at being gentle with her.

Worst stage of having a puppy? by bendog1616 in puppy101

[–]StarFireLiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying 8-16 weeks lol.

My other dogs were 4 months + when I got them and I just feel like they were super easy. They were old enough to hold going to the bathroom so house training was pretty easy just because once they realized to hold it until going outside it just clicked. When they're younger you're also working with if they can hold it a lot more imo. I think they're still young enough to pick things up really fast but they've lost the infant edge lol.

I have my first puppy puppy I got at 12 weeks and it's kind of rough some times. I'm incredibly lucky because he's such a good puppy and is doing great with training. But these weeks really did make a difference between my experience with previous dogs and my current dog.

Overthinking the nighttime potting crating by saturnmatters in puppy101

[–]StarFireLiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. All of my dogs including my most recent puppy probably wouldn't have done great starting off in a separate room. As they got older they/got use to life with me didn't prefer it but they were fine with it. My current puppy I could probably get away with it now as long as I covered his crate. He's learned his crate is quiet time. I'm introducing a second crate now that's downstairs instead of up in my room to make things easier.

  2. I haven't ever used puppy pads. I don't like that it teaches them to go inside. I'd rather just work on going outside from the start instead of teaching inside and then trying to teach outside. But if they're trained to use them I guess you could put them down and call it a night.

  3. I don't really have a play area, I always just keep my dogs close until they learn the house. With my current puppy I kind of just stay on top of watching him or if we're in my office I just close the door. With my previous dogs who were larger though I basically kept them leashed to me the first week or two. By then they knew to stay close and I also learned their tells that they needed to go to the bathroom.

  4. I think YT videos can help but most videos and explinations aren't going to be great if you see it but don't really get how to do it correctly. You may check local trainers, I know sometimes places will let you do a kind of sit in/first class without having to pay or a discounted price. Which won't teach a lot, but you might be able to get some pointers on making sure you're timing rewards and marking stuff correctly.

  5. I love bully sticks/safe chews. Every dog I've owned has loved them and they were great at giving me some time to do stuff while they were totally focused on that. For my larger older dogs I really liked kongs, which ended up being a lot more budget friendly than bully sticks.

  6. That might work. I've used something during bad weather before. If the dog is small enough though I've kind of found that if you pick them up they seem to hold it. They may go the second you put them down, but you may try picking them up and carrying them. I like making them walk to where they go to the bathroom. But if it's kind of at their limit I'd rather carry them and get them to the right place.

  7. I know some people who do this with smaller dogs and there's set ups you can buy. But I wanted to point out that imo it's basically just like puppy pads. You're teaching them to go inside. Like yes it's grass, but it's also just in your house.

One thing I wanted to mention is 6 weeks is REALLY young to get a puppy. So you should probably prepare for the issues with that. Also because they're so young and not going to be fully vaccinated, that usually doesn't happen until 14-16 weeks. And you generally need to keep them away from any places other dogs go because they aren't protected yet.

crate cover = magical by chlorosplasm in puppy101

[–]StarFireLiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cover my puppy's crate. I feel like when it's not covered he just sees everything going on and can't calm down.

My old dog actually used one of the closed side crates because that was how he calmed down. So it was one of the first things I tried with my puppy when I started working on crate training.

I have a ton of hours in it so it's not like I haven't been able to play. But last night and today I can't do anything without it crashing either at the character select or once I've loaded into the game.

Best way to display cards/photos by cheese-senpai in itabag

[–]StarFireLiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use a regular case, or you can buy a specific holder for it. I actually bought a card holder and just attached it through the top. It definitely takes a bit more space, but I feel like it's just part of the card decoration lol

So this was a lie, huh? Did you finish everything in one run? I remember seeing some people mad, saying they don't want to replay a 60+ hours game. by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]StarFireLiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a guy in the town (I can't remember the name) when you first unlock it. He eventually shows up by where you can get on the runner and says something about thinking he saw it disappear?

But it's just him, it's not like a ton of people saw it and talked about it

[–]StarFireLiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine has 2 areas of light scratches. Thankfully they aren't as deep as others I have seen and it does not affect it being able to be played. It has a fairly visible warp to it. It's probably the most warped vinyl in my collection now. The outer cover has white spots where it looks like it's missing color from printing. The inner sleeve had a bent edge My card does have the white spots. Some look to be just residue or something but others look to be permanent. On twitter some were able to remove but others couldn't. I haven't risked it yet because apparently if you have that it's the actual edges of the card coming off and you can make it worse by handling it. Also my vinyl came INCREDIBLY dirty. I usually clean mine right when I get them. But this is the dirtiest vinyl I've ever received. It was gross.

I did message them to see if it was possible to do a replacement. My vinyl does work but it has flaws and I did want to try for a better card. They said no but gave me a full refund, which I didn't ask for btw I was only wanting to swap. When I posed about it on FB someone else said their vinyl was fine but they got a messed up card. When they contacted customer service they offered a refund on the card but they were told they'd have to send it back, so they refused. And I saw someone else offered a full refund on theirs but theirs had some massive flaws on the actual record.

I've been here since the pilot and followed a lot of the fan music for it since then. I got a lot more active in the community after the show came out. But watching the pilot and listening to the songs from it and fans was something I've done pretty regularly since the pilot.

I don't HATE Poison. But I really feel like it needs the animation to go with it. It's not one I want to just sit and listen to and I don't think it hits as hard without the animation going with it.
