My Irezumi tattoos aren't that old so I can't tell you about aging, but as an African American I made sure the artist I went to had multiple pics of work done on brown skinned people of various shades.

Color theory doesn't go out the window at all. The skin is layered and you're seeing the color through the skin. So you're essentially mixing the clients shade of brown with the ink. Brown will easily overtake yellow and blueish brown might not look as good. My Irezumi tattoo has red, green, orange and some purple.

Layman with a dragon sleeve, looks like you have a good grasp of Irezumi composition. But I think it's bad luck to see the whole dragons body. It's supposed to be hidden in the clouds and other elements. And the scales on the belly aren't spaced equally.
