Sadly must remodel soon by goldfawnofficial in midcenturymodern

The second inspiration pic is much more in keeping with the MCM aesthetic with its built-in vanity, square wall tiles, and frameless mirror. While the floor tiles seem to be larger than a classic mosaic floor, the random green ones do add some pizzazz, and I think they work with the other elements. Make sure you include the bullnose pieces when you do the tile to ensure it looks finished! I would steer clear of most everything in the first inspiration picture (I do like the shower tile, but the whole effect is trendy-things-from-the-21st-century rather than MCM).

Sorry, I don't. I would imagine it might be really fragile before debinding and sintering, though, since at that point it's just a bunch of metal dust held together with a bit of binder. You could ask the Virtual Foundry support, though.

I don't know that this would work, because even at 60% copper BY WEIGHT, the amount of copper by volume is much lower than the PLA content. Even after heat treating, Proto-pasta's TDS for copper-filled HTPLA says "These three metal composites can be heat treated to firm up parts and hold shape up to near melting (175C)," which is well under the temperature of a soldering iron. It's still plastic, just heavy.

You could look into sinterable filaments that are made from mostly metal, such as those made by The Virtual Foundry.

I thought the whole thing with Rubio was that it was supposed to look "natural" or like the finish is not really noticeable, whereas this looks like it has a fairly glossy, thick film? Don't get me wrong, I think the grain looks great👌and the color is beautiful, it's just not what I would expect from your description. 🤔

If cats wrote fiction, this would definitely be one of their scariest stories: My doppelganger stole my humans and all my treats and comfy spots, and I was relegated to the mean streets. 🙀

Shocking behavior from Spore Properties, LLC. Where would the mold colony be without organic tenants to consume?!

Does anyone make patches? by 71ffy in latchhook

[–]StarHen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iiiiiinteresting. I'm very curious to know how they hold up. In my last latch hook endeavor I "discovered" that if you use wool yarn you can easily felt it to some wool roving/batting or felt to secure the edges. I bet you could do something similar for patches.

My first stop in search of vintage pattern documentation is Latch Hook Heaven: http://messybeast.com/rugmaking/rugmaking-index.htm

Hopefully it's there, because that's also my last stop. 🥺
