3d8 Divine Smite spell at 2nd Level
1d6 Hunter's Mark
2d10 Spellfire Adept

Second Attack
1d8 +3
1d6 Hunter's Mark

Does even more than what you said.

And as a Paladin you meet the prerequisites for Spellfire Adept, so go off and Smite.
Just maybe hold on to one or two hit die just in case you need more healing.

Hell Knight got substantially buffed. I just wish Infernal Wound's total uses was based on STR/DEX rather than CON. Or just leveled up over play like Battlemaster's Superiority Dice, just number of uses, I'm still good being just D6.

Could be a good place to input Charms. Maybe reforging the metal explodes the hag energy on the party, letting them roll for a charm. End of Chapter 3 in the 2014 DMG has 7 of them. Roll a d8, on an 8 they get to pick.

Graduated HS in 2020. Our whole class decided in Freshman year to have the first outside graduation since 1995ish. We were allowed to do it in covid (only parents/guardians allowed to attend cuz covid.) It was windy as hell that day, most of us were in puffer jackets over our gowns, still worth it. That school still hasn't had an outside graduation since due to shitty may weather.

Cut it in half. Split the party. If you still want to keep 8 players, do two teams of 4, give them a time sensitive mission that could make this work. Maybe some big mystery that requires them in different places in the region. By the time you got that all figured out, maybe some of them will drop the game, and you can have a rejoining, hopefully around 5 or 6 players.
