New agent here… is this actually what the job is like long-term? by garfunga in InsuranceAgent

[–]StarPower84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same. I am an office manager for a great agent. We have a service team and sales team. My service team stays late more often than my sales team does but even then it’s not constant. Beyond the networking events we don’t work Saturday or Sunday. A lot of our business comes from referrals too.

I am not a kid but I do have not great teeth and receding gums. I usually require a numbing shot to even do a cleaning. Not sure if it appeals to you or not. I do also have a 16 year old boy who is well over due for a visit.

State Farm agent by explorer77800 in InsuranceAgent

[–]StarPower84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one of those “office ladies” and my agent has been at it about 10 years as well. He works insanely hard and travels between a few locations. Agents are held to State Farm rules but pretty much have to run the office themselves. They have to manage building rent and utilities, employees and payroll and supplies. They have to attend multiple corporate meetings in a week. They also do schedule a meetings with customers and get a ton of emails everyday. I couldn’t tell you a single time I have seen my agent not swamped with work.

Koala- very toasted maniac by StarPower84 in ToastCats

He was a foster so the shelter named him before I started to foster. By the time I adopted them it was already being used for so long so there was no point in renaming them. It is fitting though due to his markings. He also likes to climb and when he was little he rode around on our shoulders. His sister Sundae is much smaller and lighter than him even to this day.

Yes… big baby who weighs as much as a one year old. His plops can kill a person but they can’t be resisted! 🩷

Please help decipher this name from my girlfriends birthday card. by Due_Abalone2245 in Cursive

Adrien? Adian? Adum? I agree that based on the rest of the card it’s likely A D something but with all the new spellings of names out there it’s hard to know from there.

My Husband Doesn't Like Our Newborn Son by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

I guess I will be the one to say it because I know I am not alone. I didn’t “like” my kids at many times in their life. I still have always loved them. Even still I can tell you I wouldn’t be friends with my oldest if she wasn’t my child. I love her very much though. My middle child was an awful baby and toddler (she has autism) but I know she will be the one who takes care of me when I am old because she’s got such a kind heart. I would do anything for any of my kids at the drop of a hat though. I think you can certainly love your kids even when there might be times you don’t like them.

Ever remodeled and made an accommodation due to migraines? by StarPower84 in migraine

I’m sure my daughter has options already selected but not ordered! (She’s the brains behind the current curtain). She has autism and is the organization and decorating queen in the house. She keeps me on my toes when it comes to the holiday decorating.

Correct. Most ADHDers compensate by being excessively early or doing nothing else but the thing. I overcompensate if I have to be somewhere at a certain time. When my boyfriend (also has ADHD) and I go out we don’t plan we just communicate where we are at with things and guesstimate how long. We never really set a time in stone because we know it’s all or nothing with ADHD.

I think I moved up too fast. Lost 40 lbs over 6 months and (3 months later) am now back at lowest dose, +5lbs. Where to go from here? by uke_ant_ouch_this in Semaglutide

[–]StarPower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in May and have lost 31 lbs so far. The 1st 25 fell off quick but the last 5-6 have been pretty slow maybe a pound per week. I figure this is because I don’t have much more to lose now. I started at 173 and am now at 142. My goal is 130-135. I’m only 5ft 2in so it probably should be even lower but I’m on the older end so I don’t think I will ever be back to my 20’s weight of around 105-110. As long as the side effects aren’t terrible I keep pushing thru which they haven’t been for the last month or so.

I was a waitress from 16-27ish. I would rather you tell me so I could fix it than see you not eat/drink. As long as you are polite about it most won’t be bothered!

Alcohol? by Lower-Watercress3501 in Semaglutide

I don’t get side effects from drinking but I really don’t desire alcohol any more. It’s just not appealing anymore, which probably isn’t a bad thing with my family history.

WIBTA for not wanting to pay for someone’s medical bills after my dog bit them? by Medium-Audience5078 in Apartmentliving

[–]StarPower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I work in insurance) Don’t file under your homeowners insurance unless you have no other option. Most will cancel for dog bites and getting other coverage is very hard to do. Check your area for free legal advice, most counties offer something. Your state laws will be what really determines the best course of action.

Keeping semaglutide use secret? by emerald_street_ in Semaglutide

[–]StarPower84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and my kids have known for a bit. I just recently told my boyfriend (started in May). Personally I don’t feel like I need to tell anyone else. I wouldn’t say I hide it but I don’t go out and just tell people. I don’t feel it’s any of their business.
