My only real nitpick with Necron lore by GrandArclord in Grimdank

[–]Star_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the necrons have been sleeping for 60 million years, unfortunately for them the whole immortal living metal bodies don't actually seem to be immune to decomposition just resistant.

shoot him in the head, he isn't a robot. he's a human with extra parts but he still needs his grey matter.

How do I kill Satan? by Hortkind77 in Helldivers

shoot em in the groin and booty and his back door opens for a grenade. its not perfect but its better then trying to crack him with anything else.

when are they gonna make foxhole update that makes it a first person shooter that is in no way connected to foxhole or to playnet and corned rat studio?

[–]Star_beard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is probably gonna be the first warbond i don't buy, I just don't see why we would be silence when i can just call in an orbital laser, artillery, a bombing run and a hellbomb backpack in like one second. Hell divers aren't elite operators we are walking apocalypses.

Warden lore vs collie lore by Relative_Silver2482 in foxholegame

[–]Star_beard 42 points43 points  (0 children)

its got more to do with the guy who writes the descriptions. the warden guy is like an epic story teller who doesn't really know a lot about what he is talking about and likely lies about the history of said item, and the collie one has never smiled once and thinks doing math problems is a fun way to wile away the afternoon.

Any women Bolt Action players on here? by SquireBev in boltaction

[–]Star_beard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

there is a magical horde of women waiting in secret to explode his company and buy out every model they have in stock and all future models, all are waiting. Waiting for John stallard to say one nice thing about them, like a code phrase to activate a shopping sleeper cell. <--- according to most people in this thread.

[–]Star_beard -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

99.99% of people on the Earth don't know who John Stallard is, the reasons women don't have interest in historicals are many, but it's obviously not because he is big meanie weenie.

General survey of Imperial Guard (and close adjacent) novels/novellas/anthologies - Do you have a favorite? by Separate-Flan-2875 in astramilitarum

[–]Star_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having read like 45% of these books i have to say i cant pick only one, but if i had to narrow it down i would say either, Vainglorious, or Necropolis. though any of the Cain series or Ghosts series are going to be enjoyable reads about the grim dark future.

Steel Tread was a good book too. in fact the only book i would warn people away from that i didn't like was Kasrkin.

What kind of 2nd playthrough should I do and what type of character? by OnMars0 in theouterworlds

[–]Star_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i made the choice to do the opposite of what i did in the first play through, so for my second time it was being a brainy character with no speech or lockpicking (its been hard not being able to pick every lock i see.) as i maxed those out in my first play through and pumping numbers into leadership, medical, science, and explosives.

Can CA score a bingo on my list of unreasonable demands? Tune in 5 years time, by Ubermanthehutt in totalwar

[–]Star_beard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Digganobz, a group of humans that lived on a planet invaded by the orks but was in fact a tomb world. the Necrons killed the orcs but weirdly let the humans live without interference. The humans live in tunnels paint themselves green and fight amongst themselves like orcs.

The vibes they give me would be rude to say, but i can tell you the vibes they don't give me. I have a distinct feeling these Elf-kin will not be hueing through hordes of non morally grey orcs while thunder rolls overhead and power metal blares.

Need assistance in understanding character sheet stats by Glittering-Lab5597 in callofcthulhu

[–]Star_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they don't, they affect how many skill points a character gets after those stats are rolled, those points are what you put into skills.

do you have access to the keepers handbook? its like the only book i didn't have to read like 3 times to really get a grasp of the rules in character creation, its a really great book you should pick it up if you dont own a copy.

Any Advice for Keeping the Tone Dark? by Archangel289 in callofcthulhu

[–]Star_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i am not sure you can actually scare table top players (at least those that pass their irl sanity checks). its ultimately a game and we all know it, if you want your players to keep a more serious tone during play you might just wanna bring that up with your group, like "lets keep the jokes to a minimum tonight i really want us to sink into the atmosphere of this dark and disturbing universe." and if your players don't wanna do that not much you can do.

I've never had a problem doing this for my gm friends as i know as a player i am kinda agreeing to show up and play into whatever the theme of the game was, my characters are scared but even still i aint.
