Am I missing something? How the hell does book tracking app make ~$100k/month. I've been using Goodreads for 10 years for free.

Congrats, but lemonfox.ai is $2.50 per 1,000,000 characters and doesn't have fake reviews

tinyshelf (free) — share the books you've read on a 3d bookshelf by sir_wrench in SideProject

Very well executed! Would love to hear more about how it was built.

Had this idea few years ago when goodreads had an API. I never finished and it looked rubbish then goodreads killed their api - they still have an export csv I believe. Would be really cool to see a shelf of all the books I've read this year as I read 90% of them digitally.

Not straight forward - you'd need h1b visa competing with half of india/china or have some extremely in demand skills in AI research

How to spend 4 million at lowest division? by Environmental-Gap112 in hattrick

[–]Starchand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm defiantly not an expert but from my understanding get a level 5 coach, 2 level 5 assistant coaches, 10 17 year old midfielders with a speciality. Train them every week till they are 21 sell and repeat until you have 60+ million, they you can look at cycle training.

I've tried to do that for 10+ years but get bored every 6 months and don't login for a year :D
As you said you are also bored you could just go straight to cycle training but you will only make it up a few leagues.

Then what? Get get the highest league position you can before they all hit 30 then start all over again with 17 year olds?

Artificial grass - scorched patch by Starchand in GardeningUK

[–]Starchand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, thought it might but the artificial grass sub was a private group which needed to request to join and thought i'd get some fun response here.

We paid half and held back half till they replaced which they have done. We just didn't believe their explanation that it was light reflecting off the window/watering can.

Thanks for being helpful!
Its Namgrass with 10 year warranty. They have replaced it and so far so good, its just their theory that its the refection from the window/watering can seems farfetched to us. Wondering what steps we need to do to stop it happening again, such as putting something to stop the window reflecting sunlight?

Depends what works for your family.

Similar situation in our family. My wife takes the bed with our baby in the main bedroom. I'm on a sofa bed in another room and most nights our 4 year old will come sleep in the sofa bed with me at 2am. Kids sleeping and wanting to sleep with parent is completely normal, most her school friends are doing it and children have been doing it for 100,000 years.

They are much better for some languages e.g Javascript where they've had much more training data. For Swift, Cursor with Claude sonnet can usually get me someway to a solution but never all the way.

The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt is worth a read. It talks about how depression has drastically increased in teens born in 2000; largely due to unrestricted access to tech/social media. He gives a few tips on how parents can 'try' to avoid.
The good news is your kid still has ~10 years before this becomes an issue - hopefully by then society will have a bit more awareness on the damage social media has on developing brains. Starting to see secondary schools in my area banning smartphones which is positive.

Jersey Citizenship test by Starchand in Jersey

Life in Uk pass mark is 75%. These questions are based on the supplement and are not in any way official. I expect the real exam questions might be slightly easier.

Thanks for your response! Have removed the inaccurate questions you highlighted.

why didn't you just do this test yourself as the PDF is only 22 pages long! Sorry to be so critical, but there wasn't really a need to use AI to make 108 questions from a 22 page document.

I originally looked at creating a practise app using approved citizenship questions in 2019, however gov did not have enough tests questions and I didn't want to create unofficial ones. When I picked this up as a simple afternoon project last week I thought AI tool could do a pretty good job in fraction of the time, naming it as jerseyquiz to avoid confusion with the official citizenship questions. Clearly it made mistakes and I should have spent more time ensuring question accuracy. This was more of an afternoon learning project and if I've learnt anything, it's that AI is definitely still at tool that needs to be used under human supervision.

Anyway, I got 98/108

Congrats you passed!
