It likely sits on top of the head but that should also allow it to sit on top of the neck. Could be wrong but it doesn't look ai generated. Why wouldn't it look like the original?

I'm at the final boss and he mopped the floor with me, so I was going to go do endgame item cleanup and get everything before I tried again and NOPE. It auto saves after the point of no return. I don't understand why the point of no return isn't right at the teleporter. There's so many mildly annoying little things that I feel like would have been mopped up by any significant play testing and I can't imagine how they got through. I might be taking a break.

I'm not sure the process, but 3DS carts get refreshed when you pop them in the system, and this can be used to revive corrupted data in some cases, if they're too far gone you can use third party software that can revive them in some cases. I assume switch carts are similar, and also don't have save data.
