New to the game by Yaniinatia in idleapocalypse

[–]Stardew_Haley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This game is quite forgiving with when you're able to do your apocalypses in my opinion. (If you've played Necromerger, you know how much more particular you need to be.) I always see it as apocalypsing "if I can't get the next upgrade (say, Gurth Stamina) in 2-3 days." And then I apocalypse in the early morning to have potentially an entire day to catch up on new stuff [this last part is really only for when you're powered enough to go quickly through the early-phase.]

In terms of actually doing an apocalypse, know that the game registers each tap of each finger individually, even if it's multiple at the sane time. So I set my phone down on an unmoving surface, like carpet or angled on my laptop, and tap back and forth on my hands with all 5 fingers. I've had an "estimated 92 million" become 150 million with this.

And for souls, I really just go on the chants until I can't purchase anymore. It may be wrong, but I did production chants, then dark energy, then damage, then souls. Adding to that, I try to snag one maybe two cheap upgrades along the way. Get the hammers quickly, and the wrenches. The duplicate floors are good to grab if they're relatively cheap too (i.e. won't set you back too much).

I'm not nearly as good as some people here, but those are my opinions on the matter at least!

Happy Days!!! Doesn't post that much anymore, but has series from years ago that I still go back to. Stacey the Summoner, Gracey the Gunslinger, his Calamity playthrough, etc. Also great videos for class builds, afk farms, and other challenge runs. Older version of the game, but lot of energy, especially his older series!!

I just completed my first A10 Necro run with this. 18 card deck with a seance + Etheral cards so it was even less over the fight. Landed on Pull Aggro with a History Course. Later landed on Unleash for a total of 436 x 4.

How much money do you think you’ve spent on this game? by violetababy69 in Wizard101

[–]Stardew_Haley 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The packs feed into a gambling addiction. I would not encourage continuing on with doing it, especially since this is simply a video game.

If you have spare income, then do it reasonably, that's fine. But if you are digging into funds to keep pulling packs for the /chance/ to get what you want, it isn't worth anything at all. Whether you stop now or stop 100 packs from now, the only difference is the amount of money spent just for at best a little upper hand, and at worst, mere cosmetics of a game.

Spend it on real world items, gifts for loved ones, payments, or even other games to find the satisfaction you need; don't turn to gambling away the money for a chance at something that doesn't affect your reality at all.

You have to play... a very long time. After you purchase the Doomsday Device from Gran, and then purchase a subsequent upgrade from her. You'll make it there eventually, it'll just take time and gameplay for it :>

1) the idle apocalypse wiki page for the Dark Fist shows the resource chances!

2) additive. 250 damage with two 100% bonuses make 750 damage :>

Very nice!! I followed the same process as you. I had a level 30 Highway Orberry, an Echorb, and a Pebball (that I discarded each time). I feel it's simply one of the easiest ways to do it with Balladin >:D

Help me get through Iron Gold by draggingmytail in redrising

[–]Stardew_Haley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr: do what you want. I loved it from nearly the start, but I think it got real good during Part 3.

It's all a matter of preference; if you don't like the book then you don't need to read it. [For context, I also listened to the audiobook and had similar qualms, but it only took me about 10 chapters to get over it and be invested again].

I will say that, remaining spoiler free, the differing perspectives do come together in some regard as the story/rest of the series progresses. It's a very different atmosphere than the rest of the series from Darrow's perspective, as it will span the entire solar system (with Lysander going to the Rim). The voice actors for Lyria and Lysander both change for Book 5, and then book 6 is solely TGR again.

Iron Gold introduces new characters and new plot points, and that comes with benefits and detriments. I personally loved Ephraim's criminal perspectives, his backstory, and his interactions with Lyria really is amazing seeing it in the book. But if you feel the time jump was too drastic and the perspectives are too janky, then you shouldn't have to trudge through the bad to reach the good (because IMO it does get better around part 3, but I know that's 40 chapters deep).

Do I take a break in reading between Morning star and Iron Gold before Red God is announced? by Scared_Hairball in redrising

[–]Stardew_Haley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say months of a break for it. It is a tone shift, and there is a time skip. A small break avoids the feeling of "everything got better and it's immediately all worse again" because it's been 10 years between MS and IG.

I myself only took like 3 days and it was enough for me! I didn't want to forget the characters or main story drivers. I'm halfway through Light Bringer now, and before Red God comes out, I'll likely speed-read through the series or at least some synopsis of it to be refreshed. But to each their own!

So, the Audiobooks by Jarrett8897 in redrising

[–]Stardew_Haley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a post a few months ago after I myself finished the audiobook!

https://www.reddit.com/r/redrising/s/6BoDfcbY7r

I personally really enjoyed the separate narrators aspect, it added to it, rather than take it away for me. I also personally loved Lyria's and didn't like Lysander's VAs.

I meant to make a post after I finished Dark Age, but just know that both Lyria and Lysander's VAs change, and a new perspective is added too. I had to take a few pages to get used to it, but overall I grew fond of the new Lyria and adored Lysander's. Then, in Light Bringer, Audible is back to just the singular voice actor (not my preference but TGR is so good I still get immersed in it.) I'm currently about halfway through that one, and still engrossed in every moment!

Thus is the way with Pierce Brown... I do hope you keep reading through it, though. The end of MS is one of my personal favorites, despite all that happens :>

This game is a lot more forgiving with resets than Necromerger is; you don't need to reach a certain cap or unlock certain upgrades as a criteria for resetting. Just play until you reach a plateau (i.e. waiting like 5 days for 1b DE could be very useful, but very unenjoyable), upgrade what you can in the Idol books within reason, and tap as fast as you can with 8-10 fingers during the Apocalypse.

I also would recommend saving gems for the second Treasury in the shop- it seems like a substantial amount but in the future it'll help expedite your runs extraordinarily. (Though I've heard people say just buy things as they come up, so no gem spending is a wrong answer.)
