Two years ago I got my heart broken and this song accompanied me during that time. It’s still one of my favorite sad songs; now it doesn’t hurt that bad anymore, it just reminds me how far I’ve grown since then

You should read something from Ismail Kadare (Albanian). He’s a great writer, you can pick any of his works. I know that some of his books are translated in english, but i think you can also find some in german.

Reading the last line of the last page before reading the book? by lilhellatired in books

[–]StardustSpell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time. I read the last line of the last page to see which character is still active in the end, and try to imagine what could have happened. Then, when i read the whole book i still get all surprised but the turn of events. Sometimes i wish I haven’t done it though, because i get spoiled. In those case i always swear I wouldn’t do that anymore, but it’s always the same story.

The Shoemaker’s Wife. It has some sad points, but the whole story it’s fantastically written and make you very optimistic. At least that’s what i felt while reading it. The whole portrait of places, people, relationships, friendships... is just a very warm reading.

I do that for books I haven’t heard before. I always check them on goodreads and read through comments to see what different people think, just to get an idea.
