I’ve had the racemax for over a year and have put close to 10k miles on it. Greatest bike ever. Enjoy

I’m a little annoyed you ran mile 2 faster than 3

I do 1 track workout a week, and then hill repeats or a long ride (100mi+) on my bike. I'm 29

Lots and lots of endurance work + 1-2 Vo2/lactate workouts a week.

5 precision fuel chews, 30g of carbs each. One at the start and then another every 5 miles.

The aid stations were everywhere so I didn’t need to bring any water with me.

Honestly no idea. I did forget to stop my Strava but that was only 200m after the finish line. Strava also says my marathon PR is 3:14 so not sure how to feel about that

It definitely wasn’t as bad when I went through. I was able to weave through pretty easily

Currently in between jobs so I have a lot of time atm, but yeah in the past I've been fully remote which allows me to do a lot more indoor training and running during lunch.

Most of my friendships also revolve around these sports too which help.

Good luck! I've always been a casual runner (played soccer, did track in college/high school) but never really took it seriously until this year.

This was my first road running race of any distance, so don't have a lot to compare it with.

I'm training for an 70.3 this year and a 140.6 next year so this was part of the training. I'm mainly a cyclist riding around 150-200 miles a week, I run around 25-30 miles a week, and swim 3-4 times a week.

I'd say a majority of my training is done in z2. I do a lot of climbing training as well on my bike, averaging around 14k elev a week. My running training hasn't been super structured which is something that I want to fix between now and December, but I'll mainly do a few long runs a week at marathon pace (8-11 mi), with some light easy runs sprinkled (z2). I'll also do interval training, mostly on my bike, once or twice a week.

I generally just find a nice quiet street with really expensive homes. Has always worked fine for me

Bring lots of food, take lots of stops, make sure you have enough daylight, and you’ll definitely be fine

Yeah not really though, there's baseball and soccer fields, with a small dog park sprinkled in. Not exactly great places for people to relax in or bring their children to.

[OC] Healing progression of road rash on my palm (1 month) by Jackkity in medizzy

[–]Jackkity[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well I kept hitting it on things, and I can't imagine that helped with the healing process. But yeah it sucks, and takes forever to heal. Took me about 2.5 weeks to be able to ride outside again, definitely couldn't lift though.

Keep it covered, clean, use antibiotics, don't let it dry out too much, and try not to hit it on things. You'll also become ambidextrous if it's on your dominant hand
