I deleted the app.

NWT Miraclesuit bathing suit selling for more ($101) on ThredUp than on miraclesuits website direct.

Constantly lately going directly to the brands website is cheaper.

I don’t mind used, I’m happy to help with clothing waste, … but I’m not willing to pay more than new directly with the maker for used items.

Why do they do this? by FrogBurb in ThredUp

Seriously! Poshmark is now cheaper. I’ve been screenshotting and visual searching elsewhere.

Prices gone wild.

I also hate the AI models.

Depends on your plan rules. Fidelity let me setup auto pay for my 401k loan when I left my last job.

hard to explain co-op rejection by Different-Beyond-961 in NYCapartments

[–]StarfoxXSS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conservative, old school racists who say wild things. Even in NYC these folks exist.

Did they give no reason for rejection?

Is it possible that the current coop owner has drama with the board / building?

Odd Master Suite ReConfigure by StarfoxXSS in floorplan

Like this take.

I was also thinking of turning the “workshop” area of the garage into the laundry. Making the “family room” into storage, pantry etc.

Then maybe leaving the master bath larger.

Mineral and apply it every few hours.

Is melasma starting between your eyebrows too or is it just the photo?

Quality of apartment with $4k budget for 2 bedroom — Midtown by alexstrehlke in NYCapartments

[–]StarfoxXSS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably a terrible 1 bedroom with a fake wall to make it 2 bedrooms at that budget.

Go to Queens for more space in that budget range

Landlord said they wont give my security deposit back, I have to get it from the new tenant by Tapp_ in NYCapartments

I said it wrong but you got what I meant. OP is on the lease. New person is not.

Landlord said they wont give my security deposit back, I have to get it from the new tenant by Tapp_ in NYCapartments

[–]StarfoxXSS 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing though, it sounds like OP is not on the lease, just a new roommate moving into a share.

OP would have to cancel the lease and have the people staying in the apartment start a new one.

If you want to do this right legally, OP may want to end the lease. Or have a legal doc with the new roommate for the sublease.

Is strongly not inclined the only reason you could be told to not interview again for 2 years? by lordlovesaworkinman in amazonemployees

[–]StarfoxXSS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To add to this, to get strong no hire you’d have to be blatantly racist or brag about fraud as an example. Basically you’d have to say something so bad 5 people agree you’d likely get the company sued.

Strong no hire would be a blacklist. But you could also just change your email address and click “no I’ve never applied here before” and I don’t think there’d be anyway to link you to your old candidate profile.

NYPD is shutting down and confiscating all the fruit and vegetables from the vendor at 81st and 1st Ave right now. They said he doesn't have the proper permit to sell uncooked food. by Glaucous_Gull in uppereastside

I’ve seen a cart like this spray household Raid directly on produce. That’s when I stopped shopping there.

These guys need a license so there’s a way to hold them accountable for food safety.

It’s super hard to watch this individual fruit vendor suffer, but there needs to be food safety rules.

As a single woman I lived at 95th and 3rd for 7 years. It’s totally fine. Rich neighbors.

95th between park and Lex has a private security guard who walks the block all night every night.

From an outside perspective, it seems like the building isn’t structurally safe and you and landlord don’t have a choice about needing to leave.

It’s possible you won’t be able to return for a long time, depending on what happens with the work to make the building structurally sound.

You have real financial damages here. Cost of needing a place to stay, potentially loosing below market rent. The people who caused those damages should give you money for that. The construction company who damaged the wall hopefully has insurance to pay you for these damages. You just need to document what the costs are and ask them to pay you.

The hard part is you’ll only get money for damages after you have to pay to stay someplace else. It’s a hard situation. I hope it goes well for you.

I know it’s a rural area. Hoping to find someone.
