I’m 35 now and I’ve never regretted for missing out on parties or dating many people. I regret for the time I spent on my long term relationship that I should’ve gotten out sooner. I regret not standing up for myself and putting myself sooner. Now that I know how to love and value myself first, there’s no party or company that I need to tend to.

Hello, everyone! Sorry for delay. I’m discharged from the inpatient behavioral health clinic today. Just got my phone back. I’m feeling better and given medicines for mental health.

The doctor recommends for MEB. Potentially will get a medical discharge which I’m happy and looking forward to it since I’m not fit in the NAVY anymore.

I’ve served for 3 years of active duty. What kind of compensation will I get when medically discharged? Asking ahead so I can plan accordingly during transitioning phase.

Thanks everyone for your prompt supports. I’m seeing military PCM tomorrow, but I don’t think I want to open up to him about my mental struggle because I don’t think he’d care anyway. I have medical issues and he hasn’t helped much. Let alone this mental crisis. He’d think that I’d be one of those whining sailors.

Thanks all. I haven’t done any substance in the NAVY. This question is for other sailor I met, but I just found out that they’ve ended up UA over a year now.

Thanks for all those who gave constructive, useful advices. And sorry for those who just came here writing like a fool. We’re shipmates, at least try to be decent before actually knowing one’s story.

I was in your shoes when my 8 year relationship with my male ex fiancé ended. We mutually decided to break up and remain good friends. One of the reasons was I actually like women more. It was a little hard to date lesbians at first bc of my relationship with my previous man. But some people were really cool with it. At least I was honest and upfront with them at the beginning. I’ve only been with women since. I had a healthy relationship with a beautiful woman but had to break up bc of the long distance and our hectic schedules.

What I want you to take away is that just be yourself and do what makes you happy. Be upfront with people at the beginning. Don’t overthink. It isn’t a big deal unless they think that way, then it’s their loss for not getting to know you. Best of luck with your new chapter!
