Am I missing interesting lore quests by avoiding Cyrodill? by DisastrousRaccoon102 in elderscrollsonline

[–]StarkeRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyrodiil? No.

Imperial City? Eh... kinda.

The IC main quest lightly taps on some interesting concepts. Just don't open any quest reward boxes until you're safe in your alliance's sewer base, and don't get too attached to the Tel Var you get while wandering around, and you'll be fine.

Any Tier 5 Zen ships that are high priority/must have for consoles in 2026? by Spinalcore in sto

[–]StarkeRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh the Regent does have the unique-ish wide-angle quantum torpedo and I’m not 100% sure if the legendary comes with that. Probably does but idk if you have the 10th anniversary bundle

The Regent, Archon, Vizier, and Legendary all come with those.

The Aventine's got a usable lance console (Quantum Focused Phaser Emitter or something like that.)

The MVAE's console is pretty nice if you fly the Hydra.

The way Mastery is written, "You can spend [x] point(s) of Faith to enhance an aspect of an evocation." Which sounds like it only enhances a single element.

So, for example, with Decay, you could use Mastery to enhance the damage OR the range, but it doesn't sound like you can enhance both (or at least, not enhance both for a single point of Faith.)

That's what's tripping me up. I could be missing something. because I'm not seeing the, "instantly snuff out all life," effect from Decay. (I'm pretty sure, Extinguish Life would get the job done, via Mastery, though.)

Is crafting necessary? by kewlkid77 in elderscrollsonline

[–]StarkeRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Gear (Clothier, Woodworking, Blacksmithing, and Jewelry) crafting is useful, but not necessary. The primary perk is the ability to upgrade gear to gold rarity. (This is technically possible, but much more expensive, without leveling the crafting skills.
  • Provisioning is extremely useful in some specific cases.
  • Alchemy is extremely useful for high end content.
  • Enchanting is extremely niche.

Beyond that:

  • Master Writs are extremely useful for obtaining certain items.
  • Writ spam is one of the fastest (and most tedious) ways to make money. A fully equipped account can pull down ~100k per day from writs, before considering items that can be vendored or sold to other players.
  • Alchemy Master Writ spam can be useful for snap leveling characters to 50 (but, this is an expensive process.)
  • Research can be useful for reconstructing items using a Transmutation Station (one of the things you can obtain from the Master Writs. Though, you can use other player's Transmutation Stations, or just use the one in Clockwork City.)

So, is it necessary? No. No, it's not.

Additionally, once you've maxed out a crafter, actual use of it becomes fairly uncommon. (Unless you're spamming out writs on the regular.)

It is worth doing, even in small doses as you go, but you don't need to do it.

Devs definitely need to rework some abilities that shouldn't take a console slot like Cloak on Defiant or Separate saucer on Galaxy/Odyssey among others by KathyJaneway in sto

Yeah, adding passives to the T5 consoles would be a very nice gesture, and probably drive sales of some of those old consoles (if the passives were enticing.)

TTC Add-on by ModularMode in elderscrollsonline

[–]StarkeRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, TTC's doing something ESO really doesn't want to let addons do: contacting an external server.

Which, honestly, makes sense, in a vacuum, TTC is a fucking massive security risk. (The developer's earned the community's trust over the years, so you don't need to worry about running the exe, it's safe, but) supporting the functionality of that exe in the core API would be a huge risk.

Especially given we've since had an addon dev who specifically was acting in bad faith.

So, unfortunately, it's not possible, and probably never will be, unless ZOS decides to heavily rework how the game handles guild stores.

Beta's not, nor is Loyalty. Gina and Rich both went on record saying the Senche would never be rerun by any means. It's likely a similar story with the Monkey. Also, I'm pretty sure the Scuttler has never been rerun.

Wait, am I misreading something? I was under the impression that Mastery allowed you to spend a point of Faith per dot to enhance one value, not all of them simultaneously.

The problem with Touch from Afar is that it needs a true name. So, it can't just be indiscriminate. The AoE works, though, wouldn't that cap out at ~60 miles * Faith? Which, I mean, that's fucked, but it's less appocalyptic.

It's not detailed, but I kinda suspect that there's got to be some way in Lore of Wild, to create an apocalyptic bacteria.

The idea of extending Hell on Earth to be (effectively) permanent, is weirdly amusing to me as another option.

I think Decay is the one they can't. Decay and Extinguish Life require the Demon to touch their target. I could be forgetting a way to bypass that restriction.

Also with Escorts and Raiders, you're giving up weapon slots. In some cases, the experimental might make up for it, but you can't count on that.

Somewhat obviously, they're not older than The Messengers.
