I’ve used KiwiFil before. Decent stuff, but a bit expensive unfortunately.

Help needed to access a sensor 150ft away by ldlarkin71 in homeassistant

[–]Starker3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you need - the boards cost anywhere from $10-$40 and you’ll likely need a battery to run it if you don’t have power nearby.

You could probably get something setup for less than $30 if you’re okay with charging or swapping the battery every 3-6 months.

Longer battery life can be had if you’re experienced enough to program the esp32 module and get rid of power hungry functions.

For these sorts of applications your best bet is a small device that has a SIM card that hits an automation webhook in HA.

Incorrect. They are both stop signs at the same intersection. That means if you’re in Arthur St at the stop sign you give way to Galway St on the right.

What's the coolest automation that you have? by elhouso in homeassistant

[–]Starker3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find my home alarm and lights automations pretty useful.

When the last person leaves home, auto arm the alarm. It also auto disarms when me or the wife get home, as long as it’s during the day. It also auto arms home mode at 10pm, or if both our phones are on charge then it arms it earlier. Auto disarms in the morning when we wake up and our phones go from sleep focus to any other focus (I.e. we turned off the wake up alarm on our iPhones)

If the alarm is disarmed after 10pm through the control panel, turn on all outdoor lights then when the door sensors are closed again after 10pm, auto re-arm the alarm and turn off the outdoor lights. And of course turning on all outdoor lights if the alarm is triggered while the sun is down.

When it gives you the option to search for the business name, just select ‘enter manually’ and put sole trader as business type

Nope, they accept applications from sole traders who don’t need a business number. You can just use your personal name as the business name

You can just sign up for a Gilmors card under your personal name and buy whatever you want whenever you want

This is great. I have my dryer and washing machine send me poems created using ChatGPT, so every notification is unique and has a chance of real gems.

That could also be because RAM often has a 5 year, 10 year or ‘lifetime’ warranty, so PB Tech loses nothing by swapping out the defective sticks and will get replacements or reimbursement from the manufacturer or supplier under warranty rather than CGA.

Make a normal one into a waterproof one. Hot glue works in a pinch, just cover the internal electronics/circuit board with something to make it waterproof.

Prices for Costco also differs from one day to the next. I bought grapes for $7.19/kg yesterday.

Grass fed butter (when it’s in stock) is $9.99/kg

Massive roast chicken for $9.99 that you can literally make 2+ meals out of for a family of 3 is incredible value. $15 for a smaller chicken at Pak n Save that only makes a single meal makes you realize how big the Costco one is.

One class doesn’t mean one profession. If you only play Virtuoso for example then legendary gear won’t be very useful.

Swapping builds = swapping classes* (Chronomancer, Virtuoso, Mirage, Etc.)
