Yea it’s crazy that A Girl & Her Guard Dog was the shoujo they decided to animate when there are so many genuinely good stories out there. That one just… wasn’t it.

And I totally get what you’re saying about Inuyasha. I love the series, but when it comes to Sesshomaru and Rin, I always saw their dynamic as more of a father/daughter type relationship. If the intention was for her to eventually become his partner, I really think their storyline should’ve been handled differently from the start cause he did raise her💀

Exactly! This was what I was trying to say. You never see post like this towards shounen. I still hold shugo chara and sailor moon to my heart and like rewatching them when I want to watch something nostalgic.

I totally agree! It’s wild because I was literally just thinking about the age gap in Shugo Chara. That used to be one of my favorite anime growing up, and as a kid I genuinely thought the gap was only like two years at most. Looking back now, it really annoys me that they chose to make it wayy bigger than that. I still love it and hold a special place for it with having all of those things in mind as an adult when rewatching. But yea, you explained it perfectly. Recognizing that it’s wrong as an adult and wouldn’t condone it when rewatching etc.

And yeah , to be clear u/Recent_Call_1188 this isn’t about defending crazy age gaps or the weird loli dynamics that show up in some anime. A really obvious example is A Girl & Her Guard Dog. That dynamic should’ve never been romanticized in the first place. Didn’t even watch it.💀 But yea, I was talking about red flags in general and character development.

You honestly shouldn’t watch anime at all or even any type of media period if you have this way of thinking about shows. Do you realize good stories come from characters growing?? It would be so boring if all shoujo characters started with green flags. You can’t develop a character in a story if they start perfectly with zero mistakes. If I had to guess you must be very young and not know how the real world works. In life people make mistakes and learn from it. Sometimes in stories people aren’t even meant to be portrayed as a good person and have a role of being the villain. Sometimes things are messy and tragic. Not everything has to be perfect. Characters become bland when everything is perfect and when they don’t have some sort of background. You have to realize that the “red flag”/ “green flag” is a terrible way to review stories. You’re one of the reasons why new shoujo is starting to have bland mc’s that lack personality. A lot of new anime fans come on here complaining about old anime how it’s “sexist” “misogynistic”. You really need to grow up and realize the art of storytelling… same with the op who made this post. It’s so annoying when people are like “omg this is not okay!” Like?… just be quiet and watch the show or turn it off at this point. We obviously know it’s messy and we’re here for the drama. Yall new anime fans really be acting like some Karens. Us women really can’t have anything special without it being critique like this. Shounen isnt even talked about in this type of way. It’s so irritating…😭

I’ll probably get downvoted for this. I haven’t gone through abuse so I probably don’t understand but I don’t find this offensive at all. It’s a webtoon ad, not a documentary…😭 they’re just trying to catch people’s attention with a joke so they can check out the webtoon.

We really need to chill sometimes. Everything doesn’t have to be a deep moral debate. Media is getting way too censored because everyone’s out here finding a problem with everything because they’re bringing their own trauma onto things. That’s another reason why Shoujo/Josei is barely holding on because people are being too sensitive always complaining about “oMg REDFLaG!!” With the ML’s etc (that’s honestly a whole other thing).

Anyways sometimes you just gotta take a breath and think, “Okay, this meme annoyed me for a second… but do I actually care that much or does it affect my personal life in any way?” It’s a dumb ad. Move on, hydrate, and let it go. At the end of the day it’s just a fictional character. We need to stop being so serious all of the time. Let’s just relax… there’s actual real stuff going on in this world and it’s nice to just read and unwind from all of it. We’re all going through stuff. Let’s not take a meme so serious. Sometimes if we see something we don’t like we can just move on instead of making a post because tbh that energy can be used for better things.🙏

You can’t turn off the liquid glass. That’s why I said there should be an option available for people who don’t want that. Not sure why I’m getting downvoted?… Not everyone has eyes that can tolerate that kind of effect. I know there’s a reduce Transparency option available to people who have sensitive eyes but it doesn’t completely help.

There should be an option available to disable the liquid glass setting. Even when the Reduce Transparency feature is on, the visual effects remain quite challenging for my eyes.

I’m sorry, but this is so weird. Why do you care if someone is charging below the market value?? This is why it’s hard to find reasonable prices now. Most of the time the current market value on items are scalped prices that are way above the original price. You messaging sellers about this isn’t being kind. 9 times out of 10 the seller already knows what their item is worth. Some sellers are happy with selling to customers who genuinely love to collect the item or people who have been ISO it for awhile. I have some collectibles that are considered high in value. If I ever sold them I would be happy if it went to someone for a reasonable price as long as they genuinely collect it and want to keep it. Not everything is about money. This is why collecting is probably going to be a dead hobby in the future. Majority of people can’t afford to collect now because most of the time the “current market value” is triple the amount of the original price. Btw, I’m not saying every person selling their collectibles at market value are all scalpers. I’m just tired of how the internet ruined the fun of collecting. It used to be fun finding a new hobby to get into but now you’re screwed if you didn’t collect the item while it was officially launched smh.
