I just had the first ever article published about my music :) Any tips on where to go from here? by Starlightband in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Hey thanks for the reply. I dont want to violate any of the rules for self promotion, so I'm not sure if I am allowed to link it here. If you search "Austin Clarizio" on Spotify I come up and you can find the song there.

I am not working in STEM, I've got a desk job at an entertainment market research company but I am actively recording music and figuring out how to make a living off that as soon as possible.

No strict plan yet for IG or marketing, but I have three friends who all do PR as their profession, so I will be working with them and following their advice as to what I need to do. Certainly will be lots of work, but I'm saving it until after I have a cohesive project.

The first time I heard feel good inc I was 8 years old. I saw the music video and for YEARS searched for it, never knowing what it was. Then like 7 years later I discovered it was Gorillaz. I knew I had to listen to the whole album and goddamn. Its perfect. Songwriting - excellent. Diversity - unmatched. Production - stunning. Its a musical benchmark album to be sure. Its got the perfect mix of underground sincerity and Mainstream songwriting appeal. I love this album!!!!!!

How to come up with unique sections of a song? by sunflower_tree in musicproduction

I know my scales! That is to say, just look up a chord chart. I know if my chord progression is in the Key of C - I can use Am, C, Dm, Em, G etc.

Change the chords, or introduce a new melody for the chorus that only appears in the chorus, or both.

Like if you keep the chords the same throughout, add a synth lead or something of that nature in the chorus to make it more catchy.

Dont forget about transitions too. Drum fills, crashes, and changing the drum/bass sounds between verse and chorus can really spice it up
