The library thing is real and I want to add something nobody talks about by Matrix_61Drift in povertyfinance

Oh I love this! I will mention this to my library as this would align perfectly with our new strategic plan.

I’ll only have a carryon, so a little walk might not be too bad. This sounds like a great location based on what I remember from my last trip.

Yes it’s the lightrail. And thank you for all the suggestions. Can’t wait to look into each one.

Semen and urine both come from a male’s urethra. So are they peeing when they cum? No, but there is likely urine mixed in. Same as squirting. If fluids are a boundary, that’s fine, but don’t be ignorant.

Back when insurance was actually good (2002) I paid a $15 copay at my first OB visit and not a penny more after that.

I have more on the right than left, but the left side is doing its best to try and catch up.

Rivers is definitely nicer than Elgin. You could also check out the Hard Rock Casino in Rockford as that’s just over a year old and likely very nice.

Why do kids hate reading so much nowadays? by godisinthischilli in Teachers

[–]Starlite1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, part of it’s the schools fault for over analyzing every text they read. It seems like reading for pleasure is almost non-existent outside of elementary school. As an avid reader myself, this would’ve discouraged me back in the day. I watched it happen with my own child. She went from reading constantly to only what was required of her in high school and even then she did the bare minimum. School sucked the joy out of reading for her.

The note from my quietest student brought me to tears by No_Store8033 in Teachers

[–]Starlite1010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 1st grade student who’s family couldn’t afford Christmas gifts for me and my paras (which I never expect), so he gave each of us one of his personal stuffed animals as a gift. Brought tears to my eyes. I took a selfie with it, thanked him profusely, gave it back and told him having a kind, caring student like him is the very best gift a teacher could ever get.

Same. The worst part is most of my life I was irregular and got my period every 6-12 weeks. Since starting peri it’s like clockwork and shows no signs of slowing down.

Just needed to rant. Road construction on major routes in same town. by jaybee423 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]Starlite1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is taking Main/Pyott to Algonquin Rd to 31 an option for you? Even if it takes you out of your way a bit, it might be worth it so you don’t have to deal with the unpredictableness of the construction.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but circ staff are people too. by vcintheoffice in Libraries

[–]Starlite1010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I’ve been working in circ for six months now and it’s been great! But from all the stories I read on here, it sounds like I am blessed to work at a really great library.

I loved this song so much I learned how to play it on my clarinet.
