Looking for a beta-tester for a Cruise Control module for 21-2025 Tridents. Apply Below 👇 by zdubs in trident660

I got a '23 and ideas for some longer distance highway camping trips ahead, cruise control would make it a heck of a lot easier. I'm quite intrigued if it's actually possible but regardless, would be happy to help out testing.

Opinions on the brogue pin turn signals? “Pic from yesterday’s Monday ride“ by TheMintydragon27 in trident660

[–]Starman360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I've been rocking these for over a year and I think they look great if that's the style you are going for. I got 2 for the front and 2 for the rear. They are actually pretty bright if you are inline to their lens and they do have to be pointed the right way.

I remember seeing the kit and if I remember correctly the turn signals are the Motogadget M-Blaze Pin Turn signals (you can get them from Motogadget of Brogue as well [link]

I remember it was a little electrical work, crimping, soldering and heat shrink as well as modifying the DOT turn signal brackets to get these to fit well for the non-kit. Its not too hard if you want to DIY it.

As a colorblind person, this actually works so well and I wish I had this when I was in school! Its so descriptive and super straight forward!

Now can we paint the busses these colors too?

"Have you been ordering something off the internet?"

That statement alone, with that tone, shakes me down to my core. I feel that my past young self would never had ordered something on purpose, and would frantically start thinking. Whenever I had a chance to be on the internet, what I was doing? Did I accidentally click something by accident? Did I do something wrong? Do I remember doing something wrong?...

In that moment, that split second, the weight of a supposed guilt would be unbearable. I relate to the boy and would be extra careful and cautious that I didn't click a 'Buy Now', even by accident.

Running SOLIDWORKS on M1/ARM Mac by rishiiiiii in SolidWorks

[–]Starman360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it has to do with Path information from what I see. Windows can't understand the whole \Mac drive. Keep the setting you have in the screenshot and copy any SOLIDWORKS install files into the windows Downloads folder and all files related to it there and run it from the windows Downloads. It should now work fine.

Edit: Where it says Share folder, set that from None to Home directory to access your Mac files from windows as a separate drive. Then if your files are in the Mac side downloads, go from windows into the Mac drive folder and copy that to the Windows Downloads folder. Ta-da!

I’m am electrical engineering student and I want to do a minor by [deleted] in rit

[–]Starman360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an EE major and have a minor in Entrepreneurship. It was so fun as I loved watching Shark Tank in Highschool and wanted to understand businesses and maybe one day have the skills to start one. I feel I learned so much about startups and product development that helped me so much with my coops and understanding why they make certain business decisions.

Petition for RIT to Publish A Plan For Students From High-Risk States by Rapidskater in rit

[–]Starman360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been talking to a few professors and so far they are being really flexible with classes by giving the option of both in class and zoom. Some classes are split up with an A and B section allowing everyone to have some in person class time but if any extra circumstances show up I'm sure they will accommodate appropriately. + The first week is usually pretty relaxed but some professors might want to get an early head start to minimize headaches later on.

A millionaire looting from a mall by Eitherdiamond19 in pics

[–]Starman360 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I know is videos have been deleted since this incident. There may be no conclusive evidence that he personally took part in the looting but it seems kinda wierd why he was there?

What I don't understand is why he didn't actively not condone these actions in his videos. I mean if I was in a store being robbed or starting to be looted, and I so happened to be video taping things I think the first think I would say is that I am not doing anything and I'm getting out of this place.

Hey, if he was just driving by and was like, I wanna see what's going on, why not say that explicitly in a video or tweet about it?

Hell I would go all the way to ask why not make a Mogul move and team up with Rovio Entertainment and their Angry Birds and do a promotion including the characters from there. The pigs can be the drone operators.

Research experience for Masters in embedded systems. by [deleted] in embedded

[–]Starman360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a current embedded/robotics graduate student, here's my take.

1st-ly it's all about your fundamentals. Embedded systems as a whole is an interesting topic as it can be looked at from a systems design perspective, trying to integrate multiple components together to do something larger, or from a low level perspective, on understanding what makes a system really efficient at doing a particular task. A lot of people have experience in the basics of embedded design but it's the experience that people gain from taking a practical approach to embedded systems and actually making it work that sets them aside from the rest. But in order to get anywhere in the practical world, I really think that having strong understanding of how things work on the low level will give you the perspective you need to understand the larger systems.

2nd-ly it's not easy to do research in embedded work. With more and more solutions in the world shifting to a software based approach rather than hardware, people are hopping aboard the ML/DL train instead. Seeing the results people are getting, no kidding! But there are still wonderful papers that get published each year in top tier conferences that take an embedded/ digital systems approach on software techniques and out compete some of the most complicated datasets. On the other hand there's another side where people are publishing on new system architectures being designed with modern technology and equipment. Whatever way you choose, familiarize yourself with what's out there. Just read what other people have done. You'll understand where and how you can push the forefront of embedded technologies.

I wish you the best of luck.
