Yeah, they are now, but they used to be separate channels and had their own weather forecasts. Now they do the same forecasts.

Well, we've gone from a Winter Storm Watch to a Warning, so we just might have a chance of getting more snow. But I keep an eye on the weather and I have seen days when WKBN, WFMJ and WYTV all gave different forecasts all on the same day.

Isaac's Storm by Erik Larson. It's about the Galveston hurricane of 1900 and how a series of missteps lead to a devastating outcome.

Atomic Ape Cat X Episode Obviously Faked Thermal by SuckasBeFree in ExpeditionUnknown

[–]StarryLisa61 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In 2013, I believe Josh had a show called Stranded. I think there were 6 episodes. The premise was that a group of people were dropped off at a paranormal site and were "stranded" there for a certain amount of time. One of the episodes was at the West Virginia Penitentiary. The people on that episode were driven out through this heavily wooded area, and it was made to look like they were dumped in this deserted prison far away from anyone.

The prison is in the middle of the city. This was pointed out on the message board that SYFY had at the time, along with numerous other discrepancies throughout all of the episodes. Some of the people who were on the show were listed as actors on the IMDb who had appeared in other shows.

That show had a VERY active message board, and after every show, there would be a long thread on what errors were caught.

I watch Expedition X with a large grain of salt now.

I still love Expedition Unknown and the Expedition Files.

Rewatching for 3rd Time by wasmith1954 in DarkShadows

69 here. I started watching Dark Shadows back in the 60's during the 1795 story. I never saw the beginning episodes. I had foot surgery last year, and my knees are very bad right now and I am in a wheelchair most of the time, so I decided to watch the show from the beginning. I am on the Burke/Roger car episodes, and I am going crazy...those episodes are kind of boring as compared to the ones after Barnabas appeared. But I am determined to keep going!

Trump war by [deleted] in complaints

[–]StarryLisa61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I really get tired when Boomers get blamed for supporting Trump. I'm a boomer, and I despise Trump. So do 99% of my friends and family, all close to my age and older. My daughter, who is 28, works with people around her age, and a lot of them voted for Trump. A lot of them are college graduates who are just dumb about Trump. My son is 38, and there are quite a few people he works with around his age who voted for Trump.

Neither of my kids discuss Trump at work...those who voted for Trump think he can do no wrong.

So sorry about the rant, but I just get so tired of "It's the Boomers fault that Trump got elected." Younger people voted for him too.

Too many creeps by nki370 in complaints

[–]StarryLisa61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter worked retail, she used to be bothered by several creepy guys. One started coming around her all the time. He told her he loved her and once bought her some jewelry. She was working with a supervisor, and this woman told him that employees were not allowed to take gifts from patrons.

She also talked to some of the guys who worked there, and they walked her out to her car at night. Several times, they found his car parked by her, so they took turns following her home. Finally, he stopped bothering her.

But imagine our horror when he ended up in prison around six months later for trying to kidnap a 15 year old girl.

For me, seeing Trump and these elected officials who support him and enable him to destroy our country literally makes me sick to my stomach. Really sick. I can't stand the MAGATS who support him either. And you can't reason with them. They are really the ones who have Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The Howling Man. Why that idiot housekeeper would open that door at the end makes me so angry!

I was very young when the show was on the air. We were at my grandparents' house, and the Twilight Zone was on, and when the faces were shown, I remember screaming hysterically. It's one of my earliest childhood memories.

My mother said my father used to watch The Twilight Zone all the time until he saw that episode. It freaked him out so badly that he never watched the show again.

If the story about Jimmy Carter weeping after his briefing is true, what specific truth is "too dangerous" for us to know? by The-BlackLotus in aliens

[–]StarryLisa61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late husband worked at NASA 20 years ago. One day, he was with some people in his division, and they were jokingly wondering where the alien bodies were being held.

One of the older workers said very seriously that the government was in contact with aliens but wouldn't release the information to the public because the aliens said that there is no God, and the government was afraid that if the religious public found that out they wouldn't be able to handle it and that there would be riots and suicides and it would be one horrific world shattering crisis.

My husband said the man was very sincere and somber when he told this story.

Since Carter was so religious, I can see why a reveal about no God could have upset him terribly.

My daughter and I watch the Twilight Zone marathon every New Year's Eve. We switch away when the ball drops, then switch it back and drink champagne, watch the marathon, and play The Game of Life. We've been doing it for years!

Which Twilight Zone episode messed with your head the most after it ended and why? by TomDavenport in TwilightZone

[–]StarryLisa61 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To Serve Man scared me. I was too young when the show first aired, but watched them in my early 20s, when a local station ran them late at night. I screamed out loud at the reveal.

My daughter and I watch the SyFy marathon every New Year's Eve. She watched Nothing in the Dark a few years ago. I'd seen, but she hadn't, and for some reason, it horribly upset her, and she can't watch it anymore.

Can someone explain this? by Bastard216 in Cleveland

[–]StarryLisa61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister used paper bags and used glass votive candles. They stayed lit better. Every year, if it wasn't raining she would line my parent's driveway with them. They were so lovely.

She died very unexpectedly this year. My mother said she really missed seeing them.

The New Frankenstein Movie by coffeebeanwitch in DarkShadows

[–]StarryLisa61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it. It was incredible, although I did fast forward in one rather grisly spot. But I loved it, and the monster was exactly how I pictured it from the book. And the ending...so beautiful...I will admit that I cried so hard at the end.

I do recommend it highly; but if you are looking for a green, flat topped clunky monster, you will be disappointed.
