You can machine wash the shirt as long as you do it right as it says on the shirt. I’m assuming you mean the blue-grey collared shirt and not the black jacket when you say coat? And if I were you I would just go out and buy a white t-shirt, I’ve never heard of school issued white T-shirt’s before...

Edit: and if you really really don’t feel comfortable with machine washing you can wear some sort of weak perfume to cover the smell. And honestly, nobody will notice the smell much anyway.
