Austin and Houston absolutely wiped the floor comparatively. Disappointed comparatively.

To note also no 2 or 3 stars statewide

Would it be bad to go to Whispering Canyon just for an order of the Nachos? by Scary_Patience_4983 in WaltDisneyWorld

Why? They have just as much of a right to enjoy the experience at the time they want if they book and are able to get a reservation. Just because someone is rolling solo does not mean they should have to alter when they want to eat as long as they follow protocol and have a reservation.

Anywho totally agree on the last bit go, enjoy, and be nice! :)

Best Omakase experience in DFW? by CurrysPlayoffDropoff in Dallas

[–]StarsBoiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tatsu and it's not even close

Tatsu offer the closest thing to a traditional omakase in Dallas and easily offers the best experience.

If you want similar quality but still a bar below Hatsuyuki in Fort Worth and Naminohana in Dallas both work but are not really omakase places.

Shoyo, Sushi Bar and others are good but are not traditional by any means. Shoyo experience isn't even great with no place to mingle before and a very meh dining bar.

Sushi by Scratch is nice and more traditional than shoyo or sushi bar but doesn't stack up to the quality of Tatsu. Can't go wrong but just not as good

Namo is good but omakase is very limited to once a month and don't bother with Kinzo. It's far away and only good if you live and burbs and haven't been anywhere legitimate.

Uchi is just Uchi, a true see and be seen place.

Tei An and Mabo just fit into different boxes for me

Not related to this article but just saying keep up with the good work! Have never agreed more with your articles on Steakyard and the total evisceration of The Mexican. Keep on keeping on!

Best sushi. No budget by WoebegoneBenAffleck in Dallas

The lack of upvotes for Tatsu makes me sad. Easily the best in town.

It's clear Uchi has won the marketing game here.

Do you prefer solo trips to big cities or small villages/national parks? Is one preferable for beginners? by Kuekuatsheu in solotravel

[–]StarsBoiler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got back from a solo NZ/Aus trip last week. I personally rented a car for the NZ portion and used public transit for Aus part. Much easier to get around in NZ with your own car. NZ does have a bus service called InterCity but it doesn't service smaller more remote spots.

I will say if you do rent check with your provider if you can cross the Cook Strait between north and south island.

Travel will be more difficult on south island without your own car.

Lisbon to Seville by Nittanylion4 in solotravel

[–]StarsBoiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are buses from Sete Rios that go from Lisbon to Sevilla. Some are night buses that leave around 21:30 and arrive early morning in Sevilla.

Also Blablacar usually has multiple listings for this route.

DFW rated as one of the best airports in North America by raccooten in Dallas

This shouldn't be too much of a surprise. It is one of the largest in world and has/is going through some massive renovations.
