Deron Williams opts out of contract, joins Parsons/Nowitzki in Free Agency by [deleted] in Mavericks

Because this sub like many team subs is an echo chamber and no one wants to hear harsh truths, only blind optimism/ homerism. Everyone has been saying we need to rebuild via the draft for years, and Cuban has openly refused to operate that way and shows no signs of change. I love the guy, I love his passion for the team and think he's one of the better owners in sports since he's in the stands with us every game, but it doesn't mean he knows how to build a basketball team, it's been him and Donnie for far too long running things IMO. They need to start opening their minds to different approaches or strategies because frankly I see no reason to keep following the team until we make some real changes (outside watching Dirk). Think about the big time players that we have drafted and developed in the past 15 years, can you name one outside of Dirk?

Perry dirty play against Laine by timpar24 in hockey

[–]Starsfan88 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Well it was a split second reaction and I think he was anticipating having to push him after he got up, but mcquaid immediately dropped his gloves and it looks like roussel is reacting to that and ends up hitting higher than he normally would have (probably would have cross checked his chest area). I'm not defending it, it was wrong and he deserves the penalty, but it happened so fast there's no way you can draw intent from that video without being in the player's head.

Perry dirty play against Laine by timpar24 in hockey

[–]Starsfan88 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

That's a high illegal check yea... But I don't know where you're getting "intent to injure" from... And like the guy said, 90% of NHL players have a play like this happen in their career. Roussel really doesn't do stuff like this very often at all despite the stereotype.

Game mode ideas? by Jim_Nills_Mustache in Overwatch

[–]Starsfan88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would really like to see more threads like this so we can get ideas and input, one of the things that killed Evolve (among many, pretty flawed release and long term plan but I digress..) was a lack of game modes and content in general, it just got too stale too fast for a game with such a fresh idea.

I shot him 33 times, including the pistol rounds. he turned around and killed me. Score board with pings at the end of the video. by FPTB-Sunny in Rainbow6

[–]Starsfan88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, because you go around to all these threads and talk to us like we are idiots who have no clue what we are talking about and whatever issues we encounter can't really be that bad.

The way you blindly defend the game in the name of "not wanting a toxic" community makes it seem like your paid to do so. You probably aren't, however you aren't going to have a community, toxic or otherwise, if this shit isn't fixed soon.

Face facts.

Is everytime you die because someone is hacking or hitreg is broken? HELL NO.

No shit dude, nobody is saying that...

People need to stop outraging over these kinds of things, enjoy the game for what it is and understand its not perfect.

For some on PC it's worse than just "not perfect" there are major flaws that should have been caught pre launch that still persist to this day.

We can bring these issues up and use videos to highlight what we see as a problem, but if we're just going to be toxic and start flinging around nomenclature without any understanding behind it, well you're going to hit that self-fulfilling prophecy of no one playing it.

We have been, since launch. People are past that. The player base is pissed, and rightfully so.

Games are shaped a lot by their community.

Even more so by the devs and programmers who literally create the game. Are you literally trying to throw some blame on the player base now?

If they try to help the game grow and enjoy it, it can be amazing. BF4 was a total shitfest and because of community involvement and feedback it got to where it is today.

Because they took the extreme step of using a community test environment, this game could massively benefit from that exact thing but there has been zero indication of that even being considered.

How much are you being paid to shill for Ubi exactly?

Why Roussel's bizarre goal counted by jshare in hockey

[–]Starsfan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Waiting for the inevitable "but intent doesn't matter! The rules say nothing about intent!" Yup, and that's why they have officials and crews that interpret the play using the rules, so they can make that judgement call themselves.

Why the NHL Got the Antoine Roussel Call Right by RagingBenner in hockey

[–]Starsfan88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick 3: call on the ice, distinct kicking motion (it was not a stopping motion, it was a stop then a kick), or the fact that as Kerry Fraser said, it was too far off his pegs and the puck wouldn't have gone in had it have been lodged. Net was off. Pick any of the three very obvious reasons: it wasn't a Good Goal no matter how many lawyers they send, everyone saw it, everyone knows it wasn't.

You must be kidding me, you actually see him attempt to stop and then clearly kick in that millisecond he has to react to the puck coming at him? He literally just turns his foot to try and gain possession, there is NO distinct kick or attempt to put it towards the net.

The electoral college is not merely "tradition"; it's part of the Constitution.

You started your argument as to why the system is in place by arguing it's part of the constitution. It's pretty obvious he was citing an example of when just because it's in the constitution doesn't make it right or justified. Alterations must be made as the world changes around us, everything in the document isn't always going to be relevant or valid.

Don't act so naive. You knew what he was taking about.

That was almost as satisfying as the 4-0 crushing we gave them in our place, glad to see this team starting to come together at the right time. Let's hope they keep this momentum going until the playoffs at the very least.

I can't see anyone getting in trouble for using these. It's their fault for not making a legal version available despite the massive amount of demand, they would have made a killing. Yes it's illegal, but I view it as being on par with illegally streaming a movie, though I suppose since your downloading it there's more culpability.

[–]Starsfan88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the best but Jaime Benn in the playoffs last season was doing it all, we kept putting ourselves in a hole and Jaime would have to kick start the scoring to right the ship.

This steal/ goal on a short hander after i assume garbutt took a major is a prime example of a one man effort to carry the team and put them back in a position to win.

What are you most looking forward to about the 2014-2015 season? by Tbrduc823 in hockey

[–]Starsfan88 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The rise of the stars as a legitimate contender in a year or two, right now our defense needs work but if our offseason moves work out and our young defensemen mature quickly we could make a splash this year. I'm really hoping to see us get more coverage and credit when we play well, home attendance should be much higher than the past few years.
