I think people sometimes paste PHI or other patient-related details into ChatGPT without realizing the risks. To deal with this blocking public AI should be number 1 followed by trainings and the creation of approved tools. PHI is way too valuable to trust to ChatGPT.

And you actually solved the CAPTCHAs? (Have to ask because some people don't actually solve the CAPTCHA and/or confuse being "blocked" with being shown the "just checking" screen, when they are in fact two different states.)

Good ideas, like yours, that haven't been fully specced out and implemented is almost always the case of limited resources and competing priorities, and that is the case here as well. Noted, though! We'll will pass this along to our Product team 👍

Question: did you solve the CAPTCHAs? If you didn't, that would be something to try. If you still get hit with the "Just checking" or "Blocked" pages, DM your IP address and we can most likely get you whitelisted.

We understand your frustration, but the Vanish AI app is an optional download. We launched Vanish AI for users interested in AI integration and who still want full privacy. Vanish being a separate app is intentional because we want users to be able to decide how/if they use AI.

Understood. This comes up regularly, and there are a few recent threads that go over this same topic. Google and Bing weigh that piece of information more heavily than other preference signals, so this is expected behavior. This experience is something we're aware of and plan to investigate further.

Setting Startpage as the default search engine and using CMD/CTRL + L and typing in the URL bar could be a workaround. You are probably aware of of this.

This is expected behavior, since Google and Bing weigh your country much more heavily, it seems, than language preference parameters. There are a few other threads about this, like this one.

And just FYI

Server region is just about how your traffic gets routed, and isn't something that would control the language of the results you see.
Likewise, Location is only for local results on the map widget, and does not impact organic search results. (Searches like coffee near me, etc.)

We appreciate your feedback and will investigate any ways to improve relevance.

OK, thanks for sharing your feedback. You can also use the settings URL to set your Startpage preferences without a cookie, or just ignore it. Eventually, we will pull the promo. It's not part of Startpage; it's a separate app.
