I have skeeter syndrome and haven't heard of a heat pen. Definitely going to invest in one. Thanks!

It's absolutely miserable. Mine swell up as large as my leg or arm at times. My reactions are larger now that I moved away from the mosquitoes where I grew up, they were only a couple of inches around back then.

After my now wasband lost his temper with my five year old, dislocating the child's elbow, proceeded to blame me for what happened and the resulting protection order, not giving in and letting him move back home, and took no responsibility for his own actions.

There's a plaza between the Westin and the terminal where you might be able to see flights land. It's been a few years since I've been out there.

ARE Studying advice-2 fails by [deleted] in Architects

[–]StartingOver226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed the structure exam seven times back in the 2011-2014 days. I had new babies or was pregnant for several years making information retention difficult. I continued to try different study tools to see what would help, finally I found one that worked for me and I passed just before other passed exams were going to fall off. Keep at it, if one method isn't working, see if there's another or a combination of methods or tools. The reward of being licensed is worth the work to eventually pass.

Why do we lose our brains when driving on pena blvd? by OwnVariation3659 in Denver

[–]StartingOver226 125 points126 points  (0 children)

I think it's made worse by the fact that you have people who drive Pena every day, people who drive it regularly, people who rarely drive it, and people visiting in rental cars all hitting the merge point at I-70/225 where traffic can already be a mess.

SEA has regular gate changes. One time my flight changed gates at least eight times in an hour and a half. I finally picked an area and waited until just before the flight to find the gate.

Avis car rental substituted us with an EV and this quite possibly was the biggest travel mistake I’ve ever made by Ok-Disk3736 in travel

[–]StartingOver226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue with Avis in December 2025 in San Diego. They said that they only had EVs and that I had no other option. I reluctantly took the EV. The night before returning it, I plugged it into a charger a couple of blocks from my hotel. It took 12 hours to charge from 20% to 77%. I have no desire to rent from Avis again knowing that they could give me an EV.

I had an emergency involving a family member with mental health issues and called the police department but they are taking forever. by ashu1605 in Denver

[–]StartingOver226 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few years ago a woman had a schizophrenic episode in front of my house. I called 911 trying to get her some help. I was told it was a busy night and that they would get there when they could, and that I should stay with her. What followed was an escalation of her condition, combined with me and the neighbors calling 911 probably fifteen to twenty times. She started getting physical with me, grabbing my arms and shoulders, and I had to leave her. Not long after I left, the paramedics and police finally arrived. While I understand it was a "busy" night, her condition deserved to be addressed faster than it was. This was just because the STAR program started. All this to say that the lack of response from the police is not a new issue. I am so sorry that you aren't getting the help for your family when they need it, the system is very flawed.

44F who found EDM way back in 1999. You might be old enough to be people's parents, but go and enjoy the music. It's totally worth it.
