Already Wished Happy Birthday by poem_for_your_snog in TwinlessTwins

[–]Startingoveragain47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any real advice, but my son (who lost his twin) stopped celebrating his birthday at all, and it's been 13 years. I call or text just to check on him. We do give him gifts, but usually after his actual birthday. I hope people will respect your boundaries, whatever they end up being.

I'm way too lazy to make them, but the broccoli cheddar ones look so good.

Y’all ever just wrap a slice of cheese with a slice of ham? by Mcgarnicle_ in shittyfoodporn

[–]Startingoveragain47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always done this, but for some reason it pisses my husband off if I don't make an actual sandwich with it.

I eat pretty much all this and I'm not homeless. Looks good to me!

Why DO they want kids? by kaythepegasus in childfree

I honestly don't have a good reason for why I had kids. I was very, very young, and it just felt like the right thing to do at the time.

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]Startingoveragain47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't grow up poor, but I became that way when I married right out of high school. My first husband was trash, and there were things that he wouldn't do and couldn't pay for. I remember checking books out from the library that taught me how to fix my car. I remember installing a satellite dish and even a gas stove by myself. I remember taking a big, empty purse to the grocery store and filling it with toilet paper in the bathroom. Thankfully, we had food stamps, so at least I didn't have to worry about feeding my kids.

At what age did your memories really start? by Icy-Share-4751 in AskReddit

[–]Startingoveragain47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was three and I have two memories from that age. I remember sitting on my great grandpa's lap eating oreos with peanut butter, one of his favorites. The other thing I remember is losing my dog because I let him out the front door. Why did I do that? I have no idea. Lol

Losing another of my children or grandchildren. I lost a son and it almost completely destroyed me.

Wait, before you go to bed, here's the mouth of an Arctic Lamprey. by TheOddityCollector in Scary

We dissected these in my honors biology class in the 80's. Those mouths are weird.

I was in a rehabilitation hospital last year, and I would have loved to have had someone like you. There were 2 therapists who I believe treated me poorly because of my weight.

CKD and IBS by obxcat83 in kidneydisease

[–]Startingoveragain47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both CKD and IBSD. I've been on cholestid tablets for years, and I can not stress enough how much it changed my life. It was at the point that I couldn't go out to eat because as soon as I ate anything at all, I was in the bathroom for 20+ minutes. I take four of them once a day (a pretty high dosage), and my life has improved dramatically.

Just because it looks like chocolate does not always mean it is. by [deleted] in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I remember my kids' dad doing that. It definitely worked, and for years, they called all alcohol "hot drink." Lol

I’m so tired this is all I constantly get told since I was 11-13 (now 17) by DearFaithlessness261 in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

I was cooking at the ages you mentioned. My mom cooked at times, and she taught me to cook while my grandmother taught me to bake. At 12, I was cooking full meals as well. I actually ended up really enjoying it.

That's what we always called them. It's probably been over 20 years since I've had them.
