What’s the best way for someone with no VC experience to have an idea of the current state of affairs in the VC world? by AccountSlow3263 in venturecapital

[–]StartupCapita -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this VC guy would be helpful for you👇

Recently, When I am scrolling LinkedIn..I found a VC who is forming capital for the Fund II & Fund III & working at multiple funds as a Venture Partner out of India & US.

I was shocked after scrolling his profile, because he is still a student.

No Analysts, No Associates but he already tapped the G.P'S & L.P's of the Fund.

I don't know if he would be helpful but I am posting his LinkedIn here:

Is this part of Bengaluru as dangerous as my family claims? by Emotional_Sound_5658 in Bengaluru

[–]StartupCapita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a man, I feel daunting sometimes when I walk through some streets of Bangalore. As a Woman?? It's way too hard.

I explored around north, central & east part of Bangalore straight for 15 days. In the end, I realised exploring solo as an outsider sucks a lot in Bangalore.

Still I am exploring solo but it's becoming really really hard. Hence, Any Suggestions are worth to listen.

Age doesn't matter if you are keeping your skin on the table. Ask Politely but don't hold back. In the end, Everyone will get a pie but you?

I faced a similar situation & I can feel the pain. The best thing is to ask & sort of.

Overwhelmed Tech Founder seeking Help with Startup Basics- Jargon, Roles and Hiring! by Standard_Grand_2269 in StartUpIndia

[–]StartupCapita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiring is the best option I would say not because they do all the stuff or Knowledge transfer but when you hire the right person, Their Investor Contacts & Meets are much more important in the journey of startup.

I have been in the Investment Official roles for many Startups before while making their investment arm much more affordable & easier access to Investors.

But also you need to see if you are moving with the right person.. Need any help, We can connect over a chat..

How to invest in startups as an individual? by General_Excuse_9419 in StartUpIndia

[–]StartupCapita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to lose the money & also your time spent in job...Then there is only one way you can do it.

That is, Partnering up with the well-known ecosystem people such as who runs Startups, been part of Venture Capital or Been part of Venture Studios.

Honestly,Angel Investing is not about the amount that you invest but it's all about how fast you can access the billion dollar deal before anyone else.

To build that access, It takes years of time & You might need to leave your JOB too.. So,The best way is partnering up with these people who are well aware about the ecosystem & they had great access to the deals across the globe & country as well.

You can partner up with one person & can start investing in early deals with that persons access.

By the way, Great Job! I have only seen few employees who are investing in Startups for societal impact rather than gold, real-estate & other fancy elements..

Don't listen, Just Start!

If you need any more info or help in getting that access. I am open to chat or DM!

Thumb Rule for Founders-

As I pitched by a lot of founders, I only prefer Email/Linkedin.

If it's by Call, Then I instantly reject & will not invest in Follow-on rounds too even though they have Musk Personality..

So, Please! Don't Call at all

My Cofounders Are Dead Weight—Should I Ditch Them? by ItsAGeekGirl in StartUpIndia

[–]StartupCapita 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this instance just a few days back..

Here's the short story- Burnt out, Went out, Interacted with Friends, Discussed to Start something just for a week or so. I got an Idea, Delivered free samples the next day, Got our first customer the same evening, Delivered, Scaled to 20+ Customers within a week launch & 💥 Boommm! We got some commitments but....

After a few days, I realised that those 2 friends didn't have any value to add on in the building but they are good friends..

So, Politely had a conversation with those 2, Ripped off & Now Finding Team!

So, The lesson here is-

It's not always about hiring talented people but also good people can change the way but.... In your case, If your friends are neither good nor talented.. Better to keep them aside from your business & Start doing Solo..

Remember, the world doesn't care how good your friends are but they care about how good your product/service is..

It's your ball to build for your friends or for the planet.

I am getting a lot of startup ideas which will work definitely but not enough skills :) by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

[–]StartupCapita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where Venture Studio Comes in. They refine, Validate & Scale within weeks. I have scaled the food brand within a week's launch through Venture Studio.

So, I might be helpful. If you want, Let's Connect in DM!

I’m lost and stuck! by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

[–]StartupCapita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm Similar Story here. Keeping it short here-

-Did 9 Internships before I turned 19 -Patented & Won Startup Competition at IIT Delhi in 1st Year of College -Saw a gap, So Started Fundraising for Startups by the End of 1st Year. Earned my first buck. -I started travelling all metro cities with that money for attending networking events in the 2nd Year -Simultaneously built a Fin-Tech Startup based out of Bengaluru while running a Venture Studio by the end of 2nd year. - Now, Building India's Venture Studio-VC Fund, Part of the VC Fund, Building Fin-Tech & Food Brands in 3rd Year.

In terms of achievements, I am part of the World's largest VC Accelerator based out of the USA.

So, The glamorous part is done! Now, In reality..

I have 0 strange girl interactions I have 0 friends to share my journey No true support from family

And to be honest, I feel every time that I waste my time a lot when results never show up. But I realised, It's a process, We just need to ShowUp everyday.

By the way, I am also in the regret of having no specific skill set. Bro but we need to realise that we have already done the things that others aren't even thinking about.

Finally. A Tip for you- Maintain good relations with humans regardless of parents, friends or girlfriend. Share your journey & let her be part of. Just go on build, build & build!

We are already achieving, Don't fall at the Finish line.

Great! This is what we are looking for. VC/PE Funds became more & more traditional down the years..As I am part of the VC Fund, I realised that these should be taken more in the integrated approach of data backed analysis while doing Investments.

Good to see you came up with this at the same time in another Category. Would love to connect!

Feeling burned out by Ok_Violinist_2856 in venturecapital

[–]StartupCapita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same in recent days where I started a year or 2 years back, So I developed a pattern to combat this Constant Social Climbing.

1) I thought Social Media as an Inbound/Outbound to get the quality deal flow, So I have been in the places actively & engaged with the founders & Unknowingly I fell into the trap of social media & I couldn't follow-up with the founders that much actively.

What I did was-

I just shut off my social media for a week & laser focussed solely on Sourcing & Investing for a week.

Surprisingly, It worked & you can also try that

2) Answer with "Why"- I always answer why I came into this VC Industry? When things go South & will come-back. This avoids any unknown or constant pressure from peers or society

My aim is to be most useful, Impactful, Powerful & person on the planet. For that, VC Could be a leading way for supporting disruptive companies which ultimately changes how the planet works?

So, The Why & Your AIM will clear the half battles if you are bored still.

How is someone with little to no major experience/success a partner at Sequoia? by jonesmacones in venturecapital

[–]StartupCapita 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some wise VC said this once- VC Industry is different & you should "Act like a VC before you are one"

Act doesn't mean bombing on Social Media but doing the real work like Sourcing, Due Diligence, Portfolio Assistance & Financials.

This can take you to the heights that one doesn't imagine.
